3D Modeling Will Never Be the Same
Artificial intelligence is set to revolutionize 3D modeling and 3D printing forever. Imagine a world where a shark, or any other 3D model, can be designed completely using AI in less than five minutes. But how exactly can this be done, and is this the end of an entire industry?
You've probably heard about ChatGPT or maybe even used it yourself. If you haven't, I highly recommend giving it a try. OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT, have just released new code for creating 3D models using only text. While it may not be perfect, it's the best we've ever seen and allows you to go straight from text to 3D printing.
Of course, you still have to slice the 3D model, but I can envision a future where you can simply say, "Hey Bamboo, print me a shark," and it will happen. It may sound crazy, but I know it's just a matter of time.
So, how can you easily use AI to make 3D models from text? All you have to do is copy and paste some code into Google Colab, download the resulting files, and put them in Blender. Now, you have your text-to-3D model.
I know what you're probably thinking: that looked extremely difficult and seemed to require a lot of programming knowledge to make it work. But here's the good news: I have a tutorial on my newly formed tutorial channel that will teach you exactly how to do this, and it will make you feel like a genius.
While AI-generated 3D models are far from perfect, they certainly beat the old method of manually blocking out the base shape of a 3D model. So, what do you think? Is artificial intelligence going to be a good thing for 3D printing, or is this all leading us down into a dystopian nightmare?

FAQ
Q1: What exactly can AI do for 3D modeling? A1: AI can generate 3D models from text descriptions, significantly speeding up the modeling process.
Q2: How do I convert text into a 3D model? A2: You can use code provided by OpenAI, paste it into Google Colab, download the resulting files, and then import them into Blender.
Q3: Is it difficult to use AI for 3D modeling? A3: While it may seem challenging at first, there are tutorials available that can guide you through the process step-by-step.
Q4: Are AI-generated 3D models perfect? A4: No, AI-generated 3D models are not perfect, but they are improving and already beat the traditional methods of manual modeling.
Q5: Could AI eliminate the need for human 3D modelers? A5: AI will likely augment rather than replace human 3D modelers, making their work easier and more efficient rather than eliminating their jobs.
