3D Text in After Effects | TUTORIAL

Hi Everyone, today I will show you how to create a 3D text effect in After Effects. Here are the detailed steps to achieve this effect:

  1. Create Your Text:

    • Firstly, create a text layer and type in your nickname or any text you desire.
  2. Add a Black Solid Layer:

    • Create a black solid layer above your text layer.
    • Apply the plugin Element 3D to this black solid layer.
  3. Configure Element 3D:

    • Open the plugin settings.
    • Navigate to Custom Layers > Custom Text and Masks.
    • In the first path, select your text (nickname).
    • Turn off the visibility of the text layer.
  4. Scene Setup in Element 3D:

    • Go to Scene Setup and click the "Extrude" button.
    • Go to Presets > BLS Physical and select it.
    • Turn off the preset and click "Extrude" again, then choose "Caution."
    • Navigate to Scene Materials, select "Shiny Light," and replace it with B1.
  5. Adjust Settings:

    • For the shiny material, change "R" to "Paint."
    • Go to Chome settings, select black, then adjust the color to match your preference.
  6. Text Animation:

    • Go to Environment and choose an image that will help make your text shimmer.

    • Now, we'll set up the text animation.

    • Under Group 1, adjust Particle Replicator settings to change the positioning and size of your text.

    • Then go to Particle Look > Multi-Object and activate it by selecting the tick box.

    • Click the clock icon (keyframe) and replicate the following settings:

      • Advancing by a few frames
      • Modify the keyframe values
    • Select your keyframes, press F9 to ease them, and adjust the Speed Graph to match the tutorial settings.

  7. Final Touches:

    • To wrap it up, add Deep Glow with the provided settings.
    • Precompose your layers, add Saturation, and choose your desired color.
