AI 3D Model Generators: Which is Best?

Science & Technology

Introduction

In today's article, we will be comparing three different AI model generators to determine which one produces the best results for creating 3D models. To maintain fairness, I used the same prompt across all platforms.

Makeer World's Image to 3D Model Generator

The first generator I tested is Makeer World, which transforms images into 3D models. Since this platform doesn't accept direct prompts, I turned to ChatGPT to create an image based on my prompt. Once the image was generated, I uploaded it to Makeer World and allowed it to process. After completing the transformation, I exported the resulting file for further evaluation.

Rodent AI

Next, I moved on to Rodent AI, which is notably more feature-rich and complex than the previous generator. This platform allows you to use either a prompt or an image source to create your model. It also offers various settings for customizing your design and enables the use of multiple sources for generation. For this test, however, I opted to use just one source, entering my prompt and letting the system process the request. Once it was finished, I was able to export the completed model.

Deep AI

The last generator I explored was Deep AI. Right from the start, I noticed the site is cluttered with ads, so I recommend using an ad blocker for a smoother experience. Despite this drawback, the generator itself is straightforward. Like the others, it allows for generation from either an image or a prompt. I entered my prompt, waited for the model to process, and once done, exported it, just as I had with the previous generators.

Results and Conclusion

After generating all three models, I imported them into a slicer and prepared them for 3D printing. Overall, I found that Rodent AI produced the best result, although all three models were satisfactory, despite having printed them a bit smaller than intended.

FAQ

Q1: What are AI model generators?
A: AI model generators are software tools that use artificial intelligence algorithms to create 3D models either from text prompts or images.

Q2: Which AI model generator produced the best results?
A: In the comparison, Rodent AI was found to produce the best results overall, although all three generators yielded satisfactory models.

Q3: What is the process for using these generators?
A: Typically, you enter a prompt or upload an image, allow the generator to process your request, and then export the resulting 3D model for use or printing.

Q4: Is there a recommended browser experience for these sites?
A: Yes, using an ad blocker is recommended for platforms like Deep AI, which can be cluttered with advertisements.

Q5: Can all these generators be used for both prompts and images?
A: Yes, all three generators allow for input via either prompts or images, though the features may vary.
