Ai "Art" Movies Are Becoming A Thing And It's BAD
People & Blogs
Introduction
I've been debating on whether to make this video or not, but this is incredibly frustrating. That's right, folks — there are now companies trying to make movies with AI. Great. As if the AI artist with their superiority complex and AI adoptables weren't enough of a middle finger to artists, now there are AI-generated movies.
The Sad Reality of AI-Generated Movies
So far, I've watched some of these. There are no full movies yet, from what I know, but there are short clips and trailers and stuff, the longest one being 5 minutes. And it's bad. The Little Panda Fighter and Ratatoing had more passion put into them. That’s right, Ratatoing. It's sad when Video Brinquedo has you beat.
As someone who wants to animate their own cartoons in the future, this is kind of scary. I've wanted to make art and animation my job, and that future might not be possible thanks to this. Although these clips I've seen have a lot of flaws, they still look kind of convincing. But there are still a lot of flaws that make it obviously AI-generated, such as the blinking, which is just bizarre, and the generic, bland art style.
No Heart and Soul in AI Productions
There's no heart and soul put into these things, and it clearly shows. All these AI bros care about is the technology. They don't care about making art; they just care about the technology and the money. Oh yeah, and crapping on artists too — can't forget that crucial detail. My animated series, as rough as the animation is, at least I made it with my own hands. I drew it. I animated it. I spent all this time making it. And then these AI bros are crapping out slop like this.
This is seriously a middle finger to artists and all their hard work. You can't just expect AI to crap out all other people's hard work, claim it as your own, and say it's original. It’s not. Stop claiming you put in so much hard work when all you did was type prompts.
The So-called Next-Gen Animation Studio
I pulled up their website and they claimed to be the next-gen animation studio. Wow. As if you need a studio for this. It's probably just one guy sitting behind a computer typing up all these prompts, saying, "I made a movie. This is a studio." So much work typing prompts is hard.
Another thing it says on their website is "crafted creatures and avatars, ped from the realm of dreams." Our characters are "in boed with distinct souls" ranging from fearsome beasts to captivating figures. Wow, your ChatGPT character personality is so distinct. Totally not made up from other writers. Totally original.
Another thing on the website says “magical animations.” I think you guys made a typo. You need to put air quotes around the word "animations." Our animations are spells in motion, right. Enchanting scenes transformed into vivid spectacles. Is this seriously your definition of magical animation? It's very magical that you guys think this actually looks good.
A Look at the "Art"
All right, so here’s the YouTube channel. I've only watched two of these so far, and they’re bad. Here's the one that a lot of people know about. I’m not going to put the entire thing because I don't want to get a copyright strike.
As you see, he's drawing on paper with a pencil, but in the next shot, he has a crayon and he’s making a colorful drawing. Because that makes sense, totally not an error by any means. Look at this; he changes, different designs, glitchy elements. What is going on? And why is there a blatant copy of Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.?
Key Flaws in AI Animations
The blinking doesn’t blink properly. The design keeps changing in every frame. What is happening? The plot also seems like it was generated from ChatGPT — it's nonsensical. A guy working at a shoe company with a secret room full of celebrity shoes, and he becomes famous by wearing one.
The backgrounds are full of random elements like candy and crescent moon signs, and the designs are just blobs and liquid-like shapes everywhere. It's just bad, morphing and all.
Conclusion
I'm really disappointed in this AI animation trend. Hopefully, there will be a future for artists and animators. And whatever you do, please do not harass these AI creators. I dislike their work, but I do not condone harassment or doxing in any shape or form.
