Autopilot, enhance the experience using Zerotouch.ai

Science & Technology

Introduction

Hi, I'm Annie Jones, and today I'm excited to share my experience with a groundbreaking product, Zero Touch AI. They reached out and asked, as a Microsoft MVP, if I would test out their new offering. As someone deeply involved with Microsoft Intune, I was intrigued by the promise of enhancements that could improve the device management experience. Anything that automates or simplifies conditions for IT administrators is welcomed, and Zero Touch AI brings some impressive features that work alongside Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.

Overview of Zero Touch AI

Upon entering the Zero Touch AI portal, users are greeted by a clean and effective interface that provides essential information regarding their devices, including a device map, update statuses, and trending applications. Zero Touch AI can function independently as an MDM or unified endpoint management system, supporting Microsoft, Apple, and Google devices. Furthermore, it also acts as a remote management and monitoring tool, offering extensive capabilities for IT administrators.

The focus of this video is on leveraging Zero Touch AI as an enhancement to the Autopilot enrollment experience. To start creating this effective enrollment flow, users must connect to their Azure tenant or Entra ID. This setup involves application registration, which may take some time but brings rich functionalities back to Zero Touch.

Integrating with Microsoft Intune

Zero Touch provides features such as driver installation, update installation, and forced encryption during the enrollment process. Its technology goes beyond basic OEM drivers, ensuring that the latest drivers are fetched from hardware providers dynamically. This real-time approach lets administrators install OS updates and prompt encryption configurations based on organizational policies.

In addition to its various setup options, Zero Touch AI makes policy management exceptionally flexible. Administrators can drag and drop Intune policies directly into the enrollment process, modulating their order of application. This flexibility offers a unique way of managing application deployment and policy application, especially concerning CIS Benchmark policies.

Application Management

The application management functions of Zero Touch AI simplify the provisioning of applications across an organization. It allows users to select prepackaged applications from a library or incorporate custom apps from their Intune deployment. Using the drag-and-drop feature, administrators can curate the order of application installations during the Autopilot setup.

These capabilities extend to the remote management and monitoring aspect, enabling a live view of installed applications and providing troubleshooting functionalities for IT administrators. The modern software interface allows administrators to check and manage patching for devices, improving overall management efficiency.

Enrollment Experience

I wanted to showcase the overall enrollment experience using Zero Touch coupled with Autopilot. After setting up the required apps and policies in the Zero Touch portal, IT administrators need to create a specific enrollment profile in Intune. This profile will assist in connecting the Autopilot setup to the Zero Touch experience.

During the enrollment process, users log in and complete the Autopilot experience. The Zero Touch MSI application seamlessly integrates with this experience, enhancing visibility for the administrators regarding the application's status and function.

As devices go through the enrollment, administrators can monitor changes from the Zero Touch portal in real time, seeing everything from device specifications to application status updates. The ability to remotely access devices during provisioning is an impressive feature contributing to rapid decision-making and effective device management.

Once enrollment completes, IT administrators view comprehensive information on the Zero Touch portal. Not only does it detail installed applications and policies, but it also manages encryption settings and drivers. The Zero Touch platform offers a new level of transparency and real-time management that complements the Autopilot deployment experience.

Conclusion

In summary, Zero Touch AI introduces powerful features that significantly enhance the Autopilot experience. The integration between both systems facilitates better device management for IT administrators and ultimately leads to a streamlined experience for end users.

I want to extend my gratitude to Zero Touch for providing me the opportunity to explore their platform. I hope this exploration has shed light on how Zero Touch can boost your device management strategy.
