Bola Dental - Periodontal Charting Demo

Science & Technology

Introduction

Welcome to Ola Dental, your periodontal charting assistant! In this demo, we will walk through the process of recording various dental data effectively and seamlessly.

Step 1: Recording Missing Teeth

Before we begin, we need to identify any missing teeth. In this demo, we confirm that there are indeed missing teeth. The specific teeth missing are:

  • Tooth number 1
  • Tooth number 16
  • Tooth number 17
  • Tooth number 32

Once recording of missing teeth is complete, we can proceed to measure and record the buccal probing depths.

Step 2: Recording Buccal Side Probing Depths

The buccal side probing depths are recorded in groups of three teeth at a time.

  • For Tooth number 2, the probing depths recorded were: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1.
  • Next, for Tooth number 5, the probing depths recorded were: 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 3, 2, 2, 1.
  • For Tooth number 8, the probing depths recorded were: 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 3.

Step 3: Recording Lingual Side Probing Depths

After completing the buccal side, we move on to the lingual side probing depths, again recording three teeth at a time.

  • Starting with Tooth number 15, the probing depths recorded were: 3, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3, 2, 3.
  • For Tooth number 12, the depths were: 3, 3, 2, 3, 3, 1, 2, 1, 1.

All probing depths have now been recorded. Would you like to proceed to record the mucogingival junction?

Step 4: Recording Mucogingival Junction Values

The mucogingival junction values can also be recorded in sets of three teeth at a time.

  • For Tooth number 2, the values recorded are: 1, 1, 1.
  • Next, for Tooth number 5, they were: 1, 1, 2.
  • For Tooth number 8, the values recorded are: 3, 1, 2.

These values have now been successfully documented.

Step 5: Recording Bleeding and Other Conditions

Next, we will confirm if there is any bleeding present. In our demo, bleeding has been noted. The bleeding specifically recorded was for Tooth number 26.

Would you like to record any other conditions, such as furcation involvement? In this case, we confirm there is:

  • Furcation involvement for Tooth number 13, recorded as +2.

Finally, we can document mobility. For Tooth number 4, we have recorded a mobility of +3.

Conclusion

At this stage, all values have been recorded. Thank you for using Bola Dental; we hope this demo has been helpful. Have a great day!
