Video Breakdown

This article is divided into two parts:

  1. How to Make the AI Chatbot: A step-by-step guide on creating your own chatbot.
  2. Why Poe is a Game Changer: An explanation of why this platform is crucial for AI adoption.

How to Make the Bot

First, let's dive right into the tutorial. Follow along to create your own chatbot:

  1. Visit poe.com: Go to poe.com and enter your email to create an account. Once logged in, you will see various default bots like GPT-4, Claude Instant, ChatGPT, among others.

  2. Explore and Utilize Bottled Models: You can directly use these models without creating your own bot, which is pretty neat. Each model has unique characteristics that make them suited for different tasks.

  3. Create Your Own Bots: On the main screen, you'll see a button to create your own bot. For example, today we'll be creating a bot named "AB Master" to deliver randomized five-minute ab workouts.

  4. Name and Describe Your Bot:

    • Bot Name: Choose a memorable and simple name like “AB Master”.
    • Bot Description: Input a concise description like “Randomized five-minute ab workouts delivered by Greek fitness trainer Adonis.”
  5. Choose a Base Model: You can select a base model like GPT-4. Consult Poe's documentation to understand why you might choose one model over another.

  6. Create the Prompt: The prompt serves as an instruction manual for the bot. Input the following:

Pretend you're the best fitness trainer in the world. Your name is Adonis. Users come to get randomized ab workouts. When a user says ‘let’s get shredded’, provide a simple table with the exercise name, duration, description, and a form tip. Default to a five-minute total workout.

  7. Intro Message: Guide users on what to do by providing a clear instruction:

Hello, I'm a world-famous fitness trainer, Adonis. Message ‘let’s get shredded’ and I'll give you a custom ab workout. It's that simple.

  8. Optional: Add a Character Image: This humanizes the bot and boosts user engagement. You can create a Pixar-style character using tools like MidJourney.

  9. Test Your Bot: After setting up, test the bot by messaging "let’s get shredded". The bot should deliver a random five-minute ab workout.

  10. Customize Further: Users can tweak instructions, add more exercises, and interact with the bot to tailor the workouts further.
