Building Smooth Animations in Adobe Premiere Pro
Do you spend hours animating in Premiere Pro only to end up with bland, jerky animations? Do you find keyframe animations stressful, time-consuming, and tedious? Fear not! Vertez is here, ready to transform your video animations from zero to hero. In this guide, we'll show you the easiest and most efficient way to make your animations smooth and exciting.
Suppose you already have an image you want to animate. For this guide, we'll use an image of Finzar, my favorite YouTuber.
The picture looks too large, so we'll use the scale tool to adjust its size and fit it to the source monitor.
First, click on your image, go to the Effects panel, and search for "transform." Drag and drop it onto your image.
Start by dragging your image to the bottom of the screen and creating a keyframe at the beginning of the timeline under the Transform effect. Move five frames forward and add another keyframe. Pull the image upward.
Expand the Effects Control panel by pressing the button that reveals two keyframes. Right-click on the first keyframe, choose Temporal Interpolation, and select Ease Out. Repeat this for the last keyframe, choosing Ease In.
Uncheck the "Use Composition Shutter Angle" box and set the shutter angle to the maximum, usually 360, making the animation significantly smoother and more polished.
Return to the Effects Control panel and focus on the keyframes. Click the small arrow next to the position bar to reveal the handles between the keyframes. Select the last handle and stretch it to the beginning. This makes your animation more dynamic and engaging.
For extra flare, go to the Effects panel and search for "3D." Apply Basic 3D to your image and experiment with the Swivel or Tilt effects to create dynamic turns like backflips or side turns.
If you want to add shake and light effects, you can use presets, which are available in the link in the video description. This can save you a lot of time from manually creating these effects.
That's it for this tutorial. Now you have enough to play around with to create smooth and dynamic animations in Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have any suggestions or if there's anything I forgot, leave a comment. Don't forget to watch other tutorials and videos for more helpful tips.
