I recently asked ChatGPT to write a professional summary for me and thought I'd share the process and results with you. The journey began with a detailed prompt: "Based on my resume below, write a professional summary for [insert job title]. Please include metrics, total years of experience, and keep it short."
Next, I copied and pasted my entire resume into the prompt. Watching ChatGPT process the information and type out the results was quite intriguing.
Once ChatGPT completed the summary, I reviewed the results. The summary included the job title and total years of experience, and it identified and listed metrics at two key points. Overall, it turned out to be a pretty good start.
I then took the generated summary and pasted it into my Resume Builder. By default, it appeared as a paragraph, but I opted to reformat it into bullet points for better clarity and presentation.
And there you have it—a professional summary created with a little help from ChatGPT.
