Canva vs. Code: Designing Harry Style's Website! ?

    blog thumbnail

    Introduction

Canva really is that girl, and I'm convinced you can design anything on this platform! Today, I'm excited to share my experience of designing a website for none other than Harry Styles. Stick around until the end to see the final result!

Now, here’s the catch: I tried to compress everything into just one minute, but honestly, it proved to be impossible. I've sped up the video to the maximum to keep it engaging, but I realize that this may not allow everyone to follow along with every step. Regardless, I must admit it's quite satisfying to watch the design process unfold—though that might just be my short attention span talking, thanks to all that mindless scrolling!

I’m particularly proud of how closely I replicated Harry Styles' actual website. The main difference lies in the fonts used. The original fonts on Harry's site require a purchase, and I wasn’t about to spend money on a license for fonts I might never use again. Instead, I opted for the closest matches I could find available in Canva, which worked out just fine!

Throughout the process, I found myself casually referring to Harry Styles simply as “Harry.” While it makes me feel like we’re best buds—like he actually commissioned me to create this website—it’s just a result of how casual his name is. Although, let's be real, "Mr. Star" could also be a fitting moniker to use in this context!

If you're curious about the design journey I undertook in Canva and how you could apply similar principles to your project, keep reading!
