Introduction and Session Start
Hello and welcome everyone! Apologies for the confusion in the beginning; I can hear you now. Today, we will introduce everyone and proceed with the session on CoPilot with PowerPlatform conducted by our esteemed guest Foran. Please note that we have to conclude this session in 15 minutes, and we'll address any questions you might have in the end.
Foran's Introduction
Thank you, Adnan, and thank you, Shak. Good morning, good evening, or good afternoon to you all, depending on where you're joining us from. I’m joining from Melbourne, Australia. Despite the gloomy weather here, it’s great to connect. I understand it's hot in Karachi, a sharp contrast to Melbourne’s weather.
Welcoming the Presentation
Let's dive into the presentation. Tech Day Pakistan has invited me to discuss CoPilot with PowerPlatform—a hot topic recently, especially in the AI space. I have been a PowerPlatform and Dynamics 365 instructor and consultant for over 7-8 years, accumulating 18 years of industry experience. I’ve achieved multiple certifications, including Cisco, CCNA, and Cisco CyberOps.
Introduction to CoPilot and Artificial Intelligence
Today’s focus will be CoPilot within PowerPlatform. CoPilot’s integration includes modules such as PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and PowerPages. But first, what is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? AI is essentially software mimicking human cognitive functions. Don't worry—Terminator won’t be knocking on your door. AI simply uses algorithms to solve problems, learning from the data we provide.
D-K-W Model
The DIKW (Data, Information, Knowledge, Wisdom) hierarchy is critical for understanding AI. Data points become information when structured meaningfully, leading to knowledge and ultimately wisdom. Platforms like ChatGPT and Google search work similarly by querying this refined data.
Overview on PowerPlatform
PowerPlatform encompasses PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and PowerPages. PowerApps lets you create applications; PowerAutomate allows automation of workflows across various services; and PowerPages helps in building responsive websites. Let’s explore how CoPilot enhances these modules.
PowerApps with CoPilot
Head to powerapps.microsoft.com. You can use your work or school account to start. You can also create a free Microsoft 365 developer account and practice.
Creating an App
To demonstrate, I’ll create an app to track customer feedback. CoPilot will help generate the required tables and forms. Using natural language prompts, you can add fields, tables, and screens effortlessly. CoPilot will automatically fill in and adjust according to the input provided, significantly speeding up the development process.
PowerAutomate with CoPilot
PowerAutomate allows automations with multiple apps and services. Essential for enhancing business efficiency, PowerAutomate’s CoPilot uses natural descriptions to create flows.
Creating a Flow
Navigate to flow.microsoft.com, create a flow, and provide descriptions to CoPilot. You'll observe how CoPilot suggests flow sequences and automations, enhancing the user's ability to build integrated workflows efficiently.
PowerPages with CoPilot
PowerPages integrates website creation within PowerPlatform. To get started, log in to powerpages.microsoft.com.
Building a Site
Describe the site you need, and CoPilot guides through page creation, form embedding, and configuring various modules needed for your custom site.
Conclusion
That wraps up our session on CoPilot with PowerPlatform. For any detailed training or inquiries, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or through my organization’s website.
