Creating 3D Perspective Text with Reflection Effect | Canva Tutorial

Today, I'm going to show you how to create a 3D text effect in Canva. Follow these steps to achieve an impressive design with a reflective shadow.

Step 1: Preparing Your Text

  1. Change Background Color to Black

    • Go to the Background tab and change the color to black to make your text stand out.

  2. Add and Style Your Text

    • Go to Text and add a heading. Type the word "Island".
    • Change the font and increase the size of your text.
    • Move the text to the center of the page.

Step 2: Download and Re-upload Text

  1. Download as PNG

    • Download your text as a PNG file with a transparent background.

  2. Upload the Text

    • Re-upload the downloaded text image back into Canva.
    • Add a new blank page and place the re-uploaded image on it.
    • Move the image to the upper-left corner and resize it to fit the page.

Step 3: Transform the Image

  1. Use the Transform Tool
    • Go to Apps and search for the Transform tool.
    • Click on it and choose the file icon to upload the image you just downloaded.
    • Drag the transformed image to your design and adjust the size and position as needed.

Step 4: Adding Shadows

  1. Add Shadow

    • Go to Elements and search for shadows in Graphics.
    • Scroll down and choose a suitable shadow.
    • Reduce the size, rotate, and position the shadow as needed.

  2. Layer Adjustments

    • Go to the Layers option and send the shadow backward.
    • Duplicate the shadow, flip it vertically, and position it so the two shadows meet.

Step 5: Finishing Touches with Liquify

  1. Apply Liquify Effect
    • Go to Edit Image, scroll to the bottom, and find the Liquify effect in Apps.
    • Choose Melt and adjust settings: increase Melt scale to maximum and decrease Melt amount.
    • Click the save icon and adjust transparency as needed.

Finalizing and Sharing

  • Once you are satisfied with the design, click Share in the upper right corner to download your final image.
