Creating AI UGC Videos For Facebook Ads

Entertainment

Introduction

In this article, I want to cover a platform that I've been using to make AI User-Generated Content (UGC) videos. It's called Creatify. While I'm not sponsored by them, I wanted to share my experience and a quick tutorial on how to use it for creating UGC-style advertisement videos.

So, here’s a step-by-step breakdown:

Getting Started with Creatify

  1. Sign In: First, navigate to the Creatify website. You can either generate your first ad for free or sign in if you already have an account. For this example, I'm signing in since I already have an account.
  2. Dashboard: Once signed in, you'll be directed to the dashboard. Creatify works on a credit basis. I have 40 credits available.
  3. Create an AI Avatar: From the top left, select "Create" and then "AI Avatar".
  4. Enter the Script: You need a script for your UGC video. If you don't have one, you can create it using ChatGPT.

Creating a Script with ChatGPT

  1. Use ChatGPT: Navigate to ChatGPT and prompt it to create an ad script. In this example, I'm using Hanes, a well-known underwear brand. The prompt goes something like this:
    • "Let's make a UGC script that's around 30 seconds for this underwear brand called Hanes, focusing on comfort and breathability.”
  2. Refine the Script: The initial script generated might need some tweaking to fit the desired tone and message. You can ask ChatGPT to refine it by introducing a problem with bad underwear and then presenting Hanes as the solution.
  3. Adjust Reading Level with Hemingway: Copy the generated script into Hemingway, a tool that checks the reading level and removes filler words to make it more readable.

Using Creatify

  1. Insert Script: Once the script is polished, insert it back into Creatify. Choose a female voice, e.g., Susan, which sounds younger and more energetic.
  2. Choose Format and Profile: Set the format to 9x16 for best compatibility with social media reels. Select an appropriate AI avatar that fits your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  3. Generate Video: Click "Next" to start generating the AI UGC video. It takes a minute or two to produce the video, matching the audio with the lip sync of the avatar.

Reviewing and Exporting the Video

  1. Preview: After producing the video, review it to ensure everything aligns correctly. It may take some iterations to fine-tune the tonality and mouth movements.
  2. Render: If satisfied, render the video, which takes around 16 minutes. Check the final output to confirm it matches the script and looks natural.

Final Thoughts

Using AI UGC content like this can be a double-edged sword. For newer brands with limited budgets, it might be worth experimenting with. However, established brands with a strong identity should be cautious, as using AI-generated content might backfire and appear inauthentic.

For those who do try it, make sure to refine your scripts carefully and continually test to improve performance.
