Custom LEGO Avatar: The Last Airbender Minifigure Showcase

Hey there, thanks for tuning into DuckBricks! I'm Chris, and growing up, Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of my favorite shows. Despite my love for the show, the original LEGO sets based on it were not up to par. They came out during a period when LEGO was cutting corners with costs, resulting in builds that lacked both in size and design quality. The minifigures offered during that time were also questionable—some barely resembled their animated counterparts, while others didn't meet the graphical standards we expect from LEGO today.

Until we get official LEGO Avatar: The Last Airbender minifigures, these custom designs from minifigs.me are the next best thing. Minifigs.me has sent me a set of custom LEGO Avatar: The Last Airbender minifigures, each packaged in adorable little boxes, representing a variety of characters from the show.

Unboxing the Minifigures

Avatar Aang

The first minifigure we have is Avatar Aang. It's impressively detailed with side arm printing and even back leg printing. Aang's face, though a bit different from LEGO's typical style, captures his animated look quite well. He also has an alternate face displaying his Avatar State.

Zuko

Next up is Zuko, who comes with a fire element piece. Although the yellow printing on his reddish-brown outfit isn't as bright, the overall graphic design captures his character well. His facial expression is subtle and fitting, similar to LEGO's own style.

Azula

We then have Azula, detailed with her dark red armor and distinctive facial expression. The hairpiece is a great match, and although there's minor color mismatch, it doesn't detract from the figure's quality.

Sokka

Sokka is another well-produced minifigure, complete with his trusty boomerang. He includes alternate facial expressions, and even though there are some minor color mismatches, the overall detailing is fantastic.

Katara

Katara comes with a waterbending feature and is another well-designed minifigure. Some minor setbacks involve the sand blue color’s mismatching, but the detailing, including arm prints, make up for it.

Toph

Toph is excellently printed, with multiple facial expressions capturing her animated self perfectly. The detail and color accuracy are spot-on, making her one of the more impressive figures in the set.

Uncle Iroh

Lastly, Uncle Iroh, featuring his iconic look and a tea accessory, is another well-done minifigure. His rounder figure is suggested through clever printing, and his facial expression, although it could be slightly improved, is still pretty good.

Pricing and Overall Thoughts

Each minifigure is priced around $ 19 to $ 20, or you can buy the full set for $ 115. Given the level of detail and custom work involved, the pricing seems fair. While there are areas for potential improvement, like the printing and graphical accuracy, overall, these custom minifigures are superb representatives of the Avatar series.

A huge shoutout to minifigs.me for bringing these characters to life in minifigure form. Fingers crossed, LEGO might officially release Avatar: The Last Airbender sets soon, especially with the series’ recent resurgence in popularity.
