Introduction
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the Soap Papia Channel. If you're new here, I'm Michelle, and I'm thrilled you're joining us. In today’s episode, I'm diving into my fall sewing plans. Fall is my favorite season, and I love the warm colors, the change of weather, and the opportunity to layer my clothing. I’m excited to share some fabrics, free sewing patterns, and a few commercial patterns that I have lined up for the season.
Fall Sewing Plans
As a part of my sewing journey, I have some summer projects that I didn’t get to complete, and I’ll be carrying those into my fall category. I’ve got plenty of fabrics at hand, and I can't wait to get started!
Fabric Haul
Here are some of the fabrics I will be working with:
Charisma King Sheets: This lovely polyester fabric is incredibly soft and cool. I scored a king sheet set, which provided me with about 10 yards of fabric at just $ 4 a yard! I plan to make skirts and tops from it.
Grasshopper Green Linen: I originally purchased this linen from FabricsStore.com during the summer, and I’m excited to use it this fall.
Twin Floral Cotton Sheets: A personal favorite, this twin sheet set provided me 4.5 yards of beautiful floral fabric, perfect for uplifting my fall wardrobe.
Dark Blue Denim: I found this rustic denim on Amazon, and it’s a staple that I plan to use in multiple projects.
Romantic Sheer Fabrics: I discovered some old sheer materials that I can use to add puffy sleeves to my sewing projects.
Sewing Projects
Simplicity 8341 Dress: This is a vintage pattern; I previously made style two and plan to create style three in another linen.
Simplicity 7721 Dress: Another vintage pattern that I can't wait to sew, featuring cute details like a button-down front and pockets.
Fatima Ruffle Neck Dress (from Tiana’s Closet): A lovely button-up dress with puffy sleeves and a ruffle neck.
Isla Puffy Sleeve Top: This top has a 3/4 length puffy sleeve and a front with ties that is perfect for layered outfits.
Primrose Pants: These pants feature a semi-boxy fit, ruffled waist, and cuffed ankles, ideal for a comfortable workwear look.
Aloha Skirt: A cute denim skirt with cargo pockets. I’ll be using the unfettered sewing pattern to make this skirt.
Racerback Top: A lovely embroidered racerback top I plan to hack the McCall 7191 pattern for.
Pinch Tie Front Top: A stylish top that's versatile for layering in the fall.
While I may not get to all my sketches, I’m excited about the ideas and fabrics I’m working with this fall!
