FREE + EASY custom avatars for VRCHAT!! Ready Player Me

Science & Technology

## Introduction

Hey everyone, it's Fia! Welcome to the Oasis. Today, I'm demonstrating how to use the Ready Player Me avatar system to create your very own custom avatar for VRChat. This method is incredibly simple, requiring no Blender or Unity experience. It's free and easy, plus it includes full body tracking, something I wouldn't want to live without in my VR experience these days. This all comes together seamlessly, and I'm here to walk you through it.

Ready Player Me offers a more cartoony feel compared to the anime look you can achieve with V-Roid avatars. If that piques your interest, let's dive in!

## What is Ready Player Me?

Ready Player Me is an avatar system that converts a photo of your face into an avatar, which you can then customize. It's simple: tweak the hair, outfit, and more. Let's walk through the process.

1. **Start by Clicking the Button:**
Begin creating your avatar by clicking the relevant button. You can choose between masculine, feminine, or not specifying a gender.

2. **Take a Photo:**
Snap a photo of your face. For this demo, I'll create a masculine avatar.

3. **Customization:**
After accepting your photo, you can customize your avatar, altering skin tone, outfits, hairstyles, facial hair, eye color, and accessories.

## Importing Your Avatar

You have two options for importing your Ready Player Me avatar:

1. **Direct Import to VRChat:**
This is the simplest method. Just provide access and wait for up to 15 minutes for the upload to complete.

2. **Download as FBX Model:**
Download the avatar as an FBX model, which you can then import into Blender or Unity for further editing.

Once your avatar is uploaded, go to VRChat and check your avatars menu. You'll find your new avatar in the 'Other' panel.

## Final Thoughts

Creating a custom avatar for VRChat has never been this easy and accessible. Ready Player Me offers a fantastic way to jump in quickly, and you can even opt for more traditional anime-style avatars by exploring V-Roid and my previous tutorials.

I'm thrilled about the future of VR and avatar creation. This is merely the beginning of what's to come. Be sure to check out my Patreon for exciting rewards, my Twitch for live streams, and my merch for cool designs.

Thank you for joining me in this quick tutorial, and I hope it was helpful. Until next time, see you in the virtual world!
