You see the usual black Samsung box. Inside, there’s a USB-C to USB-C cable, quick start guide, and a SIM card tool. I've already removed the tabs for a quicker display.

First Impressions

The white color option looks exquisite, a nice break from the traditional black phones. The unboxing was quite satisfying, owing to the premium feel Samsung has maintained.

Design and Build

Compared to its predecessor, the Z Fold 6 features a more squared design both on the front and inside display. There's a silver hinge with "Samsung" engraved, a USB-C port, microphones, power button doubling as a fingerprint sensor, volume rockers, and SIM card tray.

The phone closes with a reassuring shut, and there’s no gap whatsoever. The camera lenses have larger circles, maintaining a similar resolution and megapixel count.

Display and UI

The inner display feels bigger and more squared-off than before. The crease is still present but less noticeable unless you are in direct lighting. The front display is a bit larger at 6.3 inches.

The phone runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, backed by 12GB of RAM, compared to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with the same RAM. It has a 4,400 mAh battery and maintains the 50 megapixel main camera.

User Experience

The setup process was standard. The inner display feels slightly bigger even though it measures the same, likely due to the more squared design. The AI enhancements and the generative AI wallpapers are a nice touch.

Camera

The rear camera's layout has changed, featuring larger rings. Despite not having major improvements in specs, the rear cameras now allow for better selfies using the cover preview screen. However, the under-display camera still doesn't deliver high-quality selfies.

Battery and Performance

With features like battery protection in One UI, the phone aims to provide a better battery life. Although 12GB of RAM is still generous, 16GB would have been a desirable upgrade considering the competition.

Additional Features

The Z Fold 6 includes Galaxy AI, enhancing the overall experience with features like drawing assist. It also supports the S Pen from the previous model, although it doesn’t have a slot to store it within the device itself, which is a downside.
