How Much TikTok ACTUALLY Pays You

There's tons of people online telling you that you can make upwards of £10,000 a month using the TikTok Creative Program Beta. However, these claims often come from users with multiple accounts and hundreds of thousands of followers, setting unrealistic expectations for newcomers. In this article, I’m going to reveal exactly how much TikTok actually pays you once you reach 10,000 followers. I can share this insight because one of my accounts hit 10,000 followers a week ago, allowing me to join the program and track my earnings over the last seven days.

Joining the Program

To join the TikTok Creativity Program Beta, you need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Reach 10,000 followers or accumulate 100,000 views within the last 30 days.
  2. Your account must be in good standing.

Although these requirements might sound challenging, they are attainable. The key is to find a good niche, post consistently for 90 days, and you’ll likely reach those 10,000 followers. If you need a quick start, consider my free 7-day plan, which is available through a link in the description.

Application Process

Once you meet the requirements, you can apply to the program:

  1. Verify Your Identity: You need to upload a photo of a valid ID (e.g., driver's license or passport).
  2. Set Up Payments: Connect your TikTok account to your bank account or PayPal to receive your earnings.

After completing these steps, your dashboard will indicate that it’s preparing, which can take up to two days. During this period, any qualifying videos you post will count towards your rewards.

Qualifying Videos

For a video to be qualified, it must:

  1. Be over one minute long.
  2. Be completely original content.

I faced some challenges here as my account mainly posts podcast clips about marketing and sales. Out of 12 videos, three were initially disqualified. You can appeal disqualified videos by demonstrating how your edits make them original and enhance user engagement. Out of the three appeals I made, two were approved, and one was rejected.

Earning Money

Here’s how you earn money from the program:

  1. Advertisers pay TikTok to promote their content on the platform.
  2. TikTok gives you a portion of that money, known as RPM (Revenue per Mille, where "Mille" is Latin for thousand).

RPM can vary based on the location your videos are promoted to, the type of content, and your audience's age range. Your earnings are calculated by multiplying your RPM by the number of qualified views (views from the "For You" page, non-fake, and over five seconds long).

From my experience, around 50% of views are qualified.

My Results

Here are my results after one week:

  • Total Views: 2.5 million (500,000 from videos posted before joining the program)
  • Qualified Views: 1 million (50% of the 2 million from the program period)
  • RPM: £0.21 (historically higher, but recently around £0.15-£0.50)

With 1 million qualified views and an RPM of £0.21, my total earnings for the first week were £220.73, averaging £31.50/day, or £945/month.

While £945 a month isn't bad, it's far from the £10,000 some advertisers claim. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments, and please like and subscribe. See you in the next video!
