How to Cut Videos Online (in less than 2 minutes)

Howto & Style

Introduction

In today’s fast-paced digital world, video editing has become an essential skill, especially when it comes to trimming down your clips. Whether you've made a mistake during recording or simply want to shorten your video, this guide will show you how to cut videos online in less than two minutes using the easy-to-use online video editing software, Veed.io.

Step 1: Upload Your Video

Begin by navigating to Veed.io. If you don’t have an account, you can create one for free. On the homepage, select the option to upload your video file. Simply click on the ‘Upload a File’ button and choose your video from your computer. After you hit ‘Open’, you’ll see your video clip appear in the video timeline at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Cutting Your Video

Next, it's time to cut out any unwanted sections of your video.

Remove a Section:

  1. Drag the blue playhead to the start of the section you want to remove.
  2. Select your clip in the timeline and click on the Split Tool (it looks like a pair of scissors). Your video will now be cut at this point.
  3. Move the playhead to the end of the undesired section and click the scissors again to make another cut.
  4. You’ll now see the unwanted section is isolated in the timeline. Select this section and hit Delete.
  5. Finally, drag the remaining clips together to close the gap, resulting in a seamless video.

Trim Your Video:

You can also trim the video by using the Trim Function:

  1. Select your clip in the timeline.
  2. Hover your cursor over the front end of the clip, then click and drag to cut away the beginning as much as you need.
  3. Repeat this step at the end of the clip by dragging to cut away the end.
  4. You can also split the clip at specific points and trim the resulting sections as necessary.

Step 3: Export Your Edited Video

Once you’ve completed your edits, it’s time to export your video. Go to the top right corner of the editor and click on Export. Then select Export Video. Veed will render your file, and once the process is complete, you can review your video in the preview window. If you’re satisfied with your edits, click on Download MP4 to save your finished video to your computer.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully learned how to cut videos online in less than two minutes.
