Travel & Events
Introduction
Do you want to have a movie night or watch videos or your favorite TV show while RVing or camping without Wi-Fi or eating up your data plan?
Hi, I'm Randy and I help you make big memories in small campers because weekends are just too short. Maybe it's a rainy day or you might feel like boondocking in a remote area and just want some entertainment. Today, I'm going to share with you three services that you can use to save and download movies, videos, and TV shows to your Android or iOS device so that you can watch them offline. Oh, and be sure to stay till the end because I'm also going to show you how to connect your mobile devices to your TV so you can enjoy your content on a bigger screen.
Two out of the three services I'm going to share with you today might be free for you, and if one doesn't apply, the other might! Let's dive in.
Watch TV Everywhere
If you pay for cable TV and your subscription includes bundles that comprise HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, or many other premium channels, you can access this content whenever you want using Watch TV Everywhere. Plus, this service is included at no additional charge with your TV service subscription.
Here's how you can find out which premium channels you can watch with Watch TV Everywhere:
- Go to watchtveverywhere.com.
- Select your TV cable provider.
- Register with Watch TV Everywhere.
- You'll see a list of premium channels included with your TV cable service plan.
- Sign in by choosing "Sign in through TV or mobile provider" and locate your provider.
- Log in using your Watch TV Everywhere account.
To download and save HBO movies or other content to watch without Wi-Fi or using cellular data, you'll need the HBO Max app:
- Download the HBO Max app from your mobile device's app store.
- Open the app and log in.
- Find a movie you want to save and click the "Download" button.
- All your downloaded movies and other content will be listed under the "Downloads" section.
Have you seen RV with Robin Williams? It's a good one! Do you have a favorite movie recommendation for me? Let me know in the comment section below so I can download it and watch it next time it rains while I'm camping.
Pro Tip: If you won't have access to Wi-Fi and don't want to use your cellular data, download your videos, movies, and TV shows while you do have a Wi-Fi connection before leaving for your RVing or camping trip.
Amazon Prime Video
Did you know that as an Amazon Prime member, you can save and download movies and TV shows for offline viewing? Amazon Prime Video has a lot of free content available.
Here's how:

- Open it and browse through the content.
- Click on any movie or TV show you're interested in.
- Hit the "Download" button to save it.
- All your downloaded content can be found on your "Downloads" page.
YouTube Premium
YouTube Premium, costing $ 11.99 a month, lets you download videos for offline viewing and removes ads from all videos. Unsponsored, this service has many benefits.
To download videos via YouTube Premium:
- Download the YouTube app from your mobile device's app store.
- Search for your favorite videos or channels.
- Click on the video you want to save and notice the new "Download" icon.
- Click it to save the video for offline viewing.
This feature is perfect for downloading all recent videos from your favorite channels to binge-watch them later!
Watching on a Bigger Screen
Now that you've downloaded fun entertainment onto your phone or tablet, you might prefer to view it on a larger screen. Here's how to do it without an internet connection:
- You'll need a phone or tablet HDMI cable adapter (specific type will depend on your device: iOS or Android) and an HDMI high-speed cable.
- Change your TV input source to HDMI.
- Connect the HDMI cable adapter to your device.
- Connect the HDMI cable to the adapter.
- Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into your TV’s HDMI port.
- Now, what’s playing on your device will display on your TV.
So, grab your downloaded content and watch it on a bigger screen wherever you are!
In my next video, I will share five epic movies you’re going to want to watch on your next RV or road trip. Stay tuned!
