How To Make A Logo Background Transparent | No Software Required!
In this tutorial, I'll be demonstrating how to make a logo background transparent without using any software, entirely through the web. Here's how to do it step-by-step:
Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate to Photopea.com: Open your web browser and navigate to Photopea.com. This is a web-based photo editor similar to Photoshop.
Upload Your Logo:
- Click on 'File' in the top menu.
- Select 'Open'.
- Navigate to where your logo file is stored and select it (e.g., logo_example.png).
Remove the Background:
- Select the 'Magic Wand' tool from the toolbar. If you don’t see it directly, click and hold on the 'Object Selection' tool until a flyout menu appears, then choose 'Magic Wand'.
- Click on the background area (yellow in this case) to create a selection.
- Press the
Delete
key to remove the selected background.
Adjust Tolerance:
- Sometimes, the initial magic wand selection may leave behind some background pixels. To fix this, adjust the 'Tolerance' setting at the top. Increase it to around 125 or 130.
- Repeat the selection and deletion process.
Remove Background in Negative Spaces:
- For spaces between letters, such as 'O' or 'A', repeat the magic wand selection and delete process.
Deselect and Export:
- Go to 'Select' in the top menu and choose 'Deselect' to remove any active selections.
- Go to 'File' > 'Export As' > 'PNG'. Ensure you select the PNG format as it supports transparency.
Save and Download Your File:
- Click 'Save'.
- Your transparent background logo will download, and you can find it in your browser's download area.
