How to Make a Talking Animated Avatar with AI Tools
Howto & Style
Introduction
In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a talking animated avatar using AI tools. The best part is that I will also teach you how to modify the voice to sound like an anime character or any other style. By the end of this tutorial, you will have a fully animated custom avatar with a personalized voice. Let's get started!
Step 1: Creating the Avatar
To create the avatar, we will use Fucus. You have two options: install it on your computer or use the free Google Colab version. In this tutorial, I'll guide you through using the Colab version.
Navigate to Fucus Colab: Copy it to your Google Drive so everything runs directly from your drive. Click on the down arrow, then select change runtime, and make sure that the T4 GPU is selected. Click save.
Run the Script: Click the play button to start the script. It will run for about 3 minutes. Once finished, a link ending with gradio.live will appear in the console. Click on this link to redirect you to the Fucus interface.
Switch to Dark Theme: For better user experience, switch to the Dark theme.
Step 2: Generating the Avatar
Here we are in the Fucus dashboard:
Enable Advanced: This will open a panel on the right. In the presets section, select anime in the style tab. Update the aspect ratio as needed.
Generate Avatar: Copy and paste a prompt that typically generates great results and click on generate.
Improve Image: If necessary, select input image, go to inpaint or outpaint, and drag the image down. Lower the number of images generated to one, select improve face detail, and in the additional prompt write beautiful eyes. Then click generate.
Modify Details: To generate a female avatar, update the prompt to include the word woman. Add any attributes you want like white hair and blue eyes. For a microphone, enable input image, go to the inpaint or outpaint tab, and drag and drop the image down. In the drop-down selection to modify content, write microphone and click generate.
Step 3: Generating the Script
- Using Chat GPT: Generate a simple script with Chat GPT. Use it to improve the flow, punctuation, or any other aspects.
Step 4: Generating and Modifying Voice
Voice Generation with 11 Labs: Use the text-to-speech section in 11 Labs to generate the voiceover. Download the generated audio.
Voice Modification with EUS: Import the file generated using 11 Labs into the voice changer. Select a voice for it and export the file.
Step 5: Animating the Avatar
Using HeyGen: Go to the video avatar section, click on photo avatar, then click upload. Generate an avatar or use an existing one.
Edit Avatar: Change the view if needed and save it. Click on the new avatar and create with AI Studio. Remove the demo text and upload the audio. Trim the video to 1 minute if needed and submit.
