Step 1: Markdown Article

Introduction

Welcome back to another video tutorial! Today, I'm going to show you guys how to use Kapwing, a fantastic video editor. If you checked out my last video from about 13 hours ago, you saw a remix lyric video I created. That video is already doing pretty well with 40 views. Not bad for a small YouTuber like me! If you haven't seen it, we can watch it now before diving into Kapwing.

About Kapwing

Kapwing is a tool that I've started using recently for my YouTube videos. It's great for editing shorter videos, as the platform limits your video length to four minutes. Here, I'll walk you through the basics of using Kapwing and some of its main features.

Getting Started

First, you need a YouTube link to import your video. Let's use an example video from FR Gamer. Paste the link into Kapwing, and it will take a second to load the video.

Main Features

Once your video is loaded, here's a quick guide to the main features available on the left sidebar:

Media

This section displays the various media files you've uploaded or edited.

Transcript

It offers a feature called "Edit video like editing a text doc," though I'm not entirely sure what that means.

Subtitles

You can add subtitles either automatically or manually. I recommend starting with auto-subtitles and fine-tuning as needed.

Text

This allows you to add various types of text to your video.

Videos

You can import additional video files.

Images

Add images or even AI-generated images to your project.

Elements

Here, you can add emojis, shapes, backgrounds, and other elements.

Audio

You can either record audio, use text-to-speech, or even clone voices. You can also add background music and sound effects.

Layers

I haven't explored this feature much, so we'll skip it.

Transitions

Add seamless transitions between different video clips or images.

Advanced Features

On the right sidebar, you have additional settings:

Project Settings

Options such as "Dub video," "Repurpose project," and "Video generator."

Transcript Editor

Offers advanced editing features.

Resize Project

Adjust the dimensions of your project.

Speaker Focus

Focus on the primary speaker in the video.

Background Color

Change the background color to fit your theme.

Audio Settings

Adjust volume, clean up audio, detach audio tracks, and more.

Final Steps

Once you're done editing, don't forget to name your project and then export it. You can save the project to your device or share it online.
