How We Created Our 3D Music Video [BEHIND THE SCENE]

Film & Animation

Introduction

In this article, we will take you through the exciting journey of creating a 3D music video using Crazy Studio 3. With its user-friendly drag-and-drop features and pre-made templates, Crazy Studio allows creators to bring their imagination to life effortlessly.

Accessing Pre-Made Templates

To get started, we utilized a pre-made template available for all users of Crazy Studio. All-access users enjoy the added benefit of generating captions directly within the software, while non-all-access users can use ClipMic, a program that autogenerates captions for their videos.

Customizing the Template

Editing the template is straightforward. By clicking on Scene One in the top right corner, we could easily adjust background colors, add our logo, and customize various parameters. Diving deeper into the assets, we selected the character named Zach and made extensive customizations: changing his jacket, pants, and hat to better fit our vision.

For those who want to create their own character from scratch, the 3D Creator allows users to drag in different characters, such as Tom, and modify their appearance as desired. Pre-made presets can be saved and loaded for consistency across multiple projects.

Adding Audio and Animations

In Scene Two, we explored how to incorporate our own audio files while ensuring adequate lip-syncing for character animations. After importing a vocal track, it was easy to right-click and sync the audio with the character for seamless interaction.

Next, we added music to Scene One from our project files. We demonstrated how to adjust volume settings, including fade-ins and fade-outs, to enhance the audio experience. Additionally, we utilized camera movements to give our scenes more life.

Keyframing and Camera Work

Using keyframes, we animated character movements and transitions between different scenes. We could adjust characters' positions and rotations effectively to create dynamic performances. By utilizing the camera tool, we added further depth with various camera animations, such as zoom-ins and wide shots.

Captions and Final Touches

For caption generation, our process included navigating to the audio tracks and generating captions based on the audio content. The software provided customization options for modifying the style and content of the captions for clarity and aesthetics.

Importantly, we reiterated that the captioning feature is primarily available for all-access users, while ClipMic remains an excellent alternative for others.

Conclusion

We’re excited to see the creativity sparked from these tips, and we can't wait to see how others use Crazy Studio to create their own innovative animations.
