I Built AVATAR the Last Airbender in LEGO...

Entertainment

Introduction

In this video, I use LEGO to recreate some of the coolest scenes from Avatar: The Last Airbender, from Aang waking up to all of his adventures and the final showdown with Ozai. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of the build.

First, I went online and bought custom LEGO Avatar Minifigures, complete with cool accessories like a boomerang, water, and even a fire-bending Zuko (though that’s an illegal building technique, so beware!).

Building the Scene

I started with the scene where Katara and Sokka are fishing. I created icy water surrounded by ice, added Sokka and Katara to a boat, and depicted a moment where Sokka nearly catches a fish. They crash the boat and end up on a plateau, discovering Aang in an iceberg. Katara frees him from his "time capsule."

Creating Appa

Next, I built Appa, starting with his body and head, which can open and close his mouth. Initially, I turned him into a worm and then added legs to complete the look. His eyes were added later, which look a bit cursed. Credit for Appa’s design goes to Axid Droid.

Penguin Sledding

Aang wants to go penguin sledding, so I grabbed some pieces and built a somewhat cursed-looking penguin. I then used all of my white slopes to build a giant ramp for Katara to slide down with Aang, enjoying the fun.

Confrontation with Zuko

Returning to the village, Zuko appears. Using the instructions from the original Fire Nation ship, I built my version with more details. Zuko, who isn't bald like the original figure, is on the deck with Uncle Iroh enjoying tea and a card game. Zuko notices the light beam from Aang and captures him, but Aang escapes thanks to Sokka and Katara riding Appa. Cue the iconic "Yip Yip," and Appa takes flight.

Southern Air Temple

The gang flies to the Southern Air Temple, where Aang is devastated to find his dead master Gyatso, but then seeks comfort from his friends. Realizing he's the last Airbender, Aang resolves to master all four elements.

Omashu and Cabbage Cart

Next stop is Omashu, where Aang enjoys sliding down the city's delivery system. I built this system and the hilarious cart from the Cabbage Guy, recreating the moment when the cart is destroyed. "My cabbages!"

Library in the Desert

The team travels to a library in the desert and encounters Wan Shi Tong, the owl spirit. I built the cursed-looking owl and the planetary calendar room where Sokka discovers the solar eclipse. Unfortunately, Appa is captured during their adventure, driving the plot forward.

Ba Sing Se and the Drill

Upon arriving at Ba Sing Se, I recreated the Fire Nation’s drill attack with intricate LEGO techniques. Aang stops the drill in an epic showdown, and Zuko, now on his path to redemption, frees Appa.

Final Battles

In the final showdown, I built scenes including Zuko and Katara vs. Azula, complete with a beautifully detailed house. Also, I recreated Aang vs. Ozai, featuring a large pillar and accurately designed combatants. Aang ultimately spares Ozai, taking away his bending powers.

Throughout the build, each scene pays homage to the series, bringing key moments to life in LEGO form. I hope you enjoyed this journey through the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe with LEGO bricks.
