I made a full Minecraft Animation in 24 hours

    Introduction

Animation takes weeks, sometimes even months, and is a very long process. So let's make one in 24 hours!

    The Challenge

The idea is simple: set a timer for 24 hours, do the thing, and then release it. What could go wrong? Don't worry; I'll take you on this magical journey with me. It'll be fun, lots of fun, I promise!

    The Process

My animation process can be broken down into three stages: pre-production, actual production, and post-production. I'll show you each of these stages. Then, after all is done, we will get to see the final disaster together. Yay!

    Rules for the Challenge

Before we begin our magical journey, we need some rules for this challenge. Luckily, I have some:

    1. All assets, animation, and lighting must be created by me.
    2. Everything except for the room assets and rigs must be created in that 24 hours.
    3. When the 24 hours are over, upload whatever I have done.
    4. No working on the animation at all past the 24-hour mark.

    Pre-Production: Building the Set

Tada! If you're wondering why it's pink, that's because I'm using other textures in Blender that I don't have ready yet, and so I replaced it with a temporary texture that I can clearly see. I usually don't build in Minecraft first; I usually make my sets in Blender, but for some reason, I thought this would be faster, and I'm starting to regret that decision. Oh, I wasted about 30 minutes almost! This is a bad idea. Now, let's start over.

Ta-da! This looks pretty good. We need to do some essential stuff, so let's make the stage a little bit bigger. Oh, now we have to add a little bit more behind this.

I'm gonna use some assets now that I've created a while ago. I'm allowed to do that, by the way, in case you were wondering. You may recognize these assets from the "Now Open" animation.

I've also loaded in some old assets, and we'll put things like a fan, a kid station, and a barrel of balloons.

After some more asset ripping, I managed to get it good. It looks fine. I made it in an hour-ish. Now, we are done with the set. Nice! Set one is done. Now let's start animating.

    Production: Animating the Scenes

Wait a second, we are six minutes into this video, and you still don't know what song I'm animating! I am really bad at this.

For this challenge, I chose a song that was shorter in length and by a lesser-known creator. I stumbled upon a channel named "CharmySweets." She does fandubs and covers, and she's really good. We are going to be animating her fandub of "Turtle Crusher." The song is really good.

    Progress Update

It's been a little bit, and I owe you guys some progress. Here is some of my progress. It’s not that much, but I polished this area, so now it looks pretty much done. After more work, there are some things like her hair missing, which I will fix.

I wanted to stream in my Discord server, so I did. Now it's been quite some time, and I've worked on various scenes. I have to start the second part of the video with 13 hours left.

After some more work, we have 10 hours left on the clock, and I finished another scene. Time for me to go to bed.

    Post-Production: Rendering and Final Touches

Next day, I woke up, and the scene wasn't done rendering. So I needed to fix it, but we have five hours left. After a tense waiting period for the final render, it completed with just 30 seconds left on the clock. We did it!

An animation I made in 24 hours is done. It’s finished. It’s not perfect, but it’s done, and I’m thrilled!

Here is "Turtle Crusher," a fandub by Charmy Sweets, animated in 24 hours. Enjoy!

    Opinion and Outro

This video was a ton of fun to make. I definitely want to do more stuff like this in the future. Let me know what other challenges you'd like to see too. Subscribe for more, and ring the bell so you’ll be notified when I upload again. Go check out Charmy Sweet's channel and give her some love. You guys are the best. I love you. Bye!
