I Tried Affiliate Marketing Non-Stop for 100 Hours...
Education
Introduction
In 2023, I successfully generated over five figures through affiliate marketing, as showcased in my previous videos. With the rise of affiliate marketing in 2024 and the upcoming 2025, many have been asking if it's still feasible to replicate that success. While I haven't tested it yet, I'm ready to put my skills to the test in this 100-hour challenge to fund my dream pair of shoes priced at $ 350.
The Challenge Begins
To kick off this challenge, I'll utilize two social media platforms—TikTok and Pinterest—and two marketing methods to see which performs better. I'll be creating content, engaging with communities, and posting organic links to promote a product: a vegan recipe cookbook that sells for $ 28. I know this product will resonate with a target audience, specifically vegan mothers eager to explore new recipes.
Choosing the Right Program
For this challenge, I decided to use ClickBank as my affiliate marketing program. It's been a while since I utilized it, and this cookbook has good reviews, so I feel confident promoting it.
Creating Our Social Media Pages
I set up a new Pinterest account, optimizing it to reflect our theme around plant-based cooking. Using Canva, I created a free logo and established our brand, "PL it Up." Our Pinterest bio reads: "Your body is a temple for plants." With this setup, I moved on to TikTok.
On TikTok, I leveraged an existing account with over 11,000 followers. However, with the need for over 1,000 followers to include clickable links, I realized I'd have some work ahead.
Content Creation and Posting
Originally, I planned to create original content featuring clips of plant-based meals. But, after reviewing my progress and seeing how much time that would take, I opted to repost viral TikTok videos from creators who already excelled in this niche. I made sure to credit the creators properly and included a call to action in the caption, inviting viewers to check out more recipes via the link in my bio.
Tracking Results
After post-launching, I discovered mixed results:
Unfortunately, my Pinterest efforts did not yield the results I hoped for. Over time, I received a handful of views but no engagement. This indicated Pinterest might not be the best platform for immediate sales in such a short timeframe.
TikTok
On TikTok, however, things looked more promising. Our videos began gaining traction, with one reaching over 6,000 views. From our efforts, we managed to secure some clicks on our affiliate link, leading to a small number of sales.
Despite inconsistencies in tracking from ClickBank, we saw a promising click-through rate when ads were ramped up. After a few days of organic posting and then a burst of paid content, we managed to gather significant clicks and interactions.
Ad Campaigns
After realizing the potential of ads, I aimed to run campaigns on both TikTok and Snapchat. While TikTok ads went through successfully, Snapchat had rejections leading to frustrations.
After two days of running ads with a budget of around $ 900, I wrapped up my marketing efforts and of the total sales generated, I netted $ 673. Unfortunately, I fell short of my goal for the shoes. However, the results were still impressive given the limited time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this challenge, while not entirely successful in terms of purchasing my dream shoes, demonstrated the power of affiliate marketing. A realistic approach yielded earnings without intensive effort or major investment. Additionally, my TikTok account gained traction, and there’s room for growth on both TikTok and Pinterest.
