I Used an A.I. to Make Beats for Me

Entertainment

Introduction

Introduction

I can't believe that a bot made this melody! This is blowing my mind. For the last few weeks, I've been experimenting with AI and music. I really believe that artificial intelligence is going to become the next big thing in music production. It's amazing how a bot can come up with melodies that could potentially surpass human creativity.

Using AI for Melodies

For today's video, we’re going to let AI come up with unique, custom-made melodies specifically for us. We’ll then use them as samples, flipping them into beats. This journey is going to be a blast!

Getting Started

First, let’s start with a website called ecred.com. This platform allows you to pick your scene, mood, and jammer—particularly useful when working on music for different genres or settings. Here, we don’t want anything too busy, so I started with an acoustic setting.

The first melody wasn’t that great, but one great feature of this program is the ability to turn off stems. You can isolate the top melody, chords, or drums, giving you complete control over your track. I wasn’t quite satisfied, so I tried another setting.

Introduction

Lo-fi Hip-Hop with "Zed" as the jammer yielded better results.

While the drums were trashed, the melody was solid. I was able to mute the parts I didn’t like and kept what was good. This process is fascinating because the melodies are randomly generated, making each one unique.

Hip Hop with a Dark Twist

Switching to Hip Hop and choosing "Dark," I found another great melody and decided to edit it. By pitching it down, I managed to create a distinct vibe.

Although the initial drums were not satisfactory, the melody provided a great base to build upon.

Using Serato Studio for Final Touches

Next, I opened up Serato Studio to assemble everything. One of the amazing features in Serato Studio is the transposition tool which allows you to shift the entire beat’s key just by clicking arrows. It's incredibly convenient for beat makers.

Fine-Tuning and Adding Elements

I decided to add some guitar layers to enhance the overall sound. Despite not being a pro on the guitar, the additional instrument brought more life to the beat.

Giveaway and Conclusion

Honestly, the workflow in Serato Studio is so beat-maker friendly and intuitive. From key transpositions to built-in samplers, it makes the whole process seamless. Also, Serato was kind enough to give us five copies of the premium version of Serato Studio to give away. Follow me and Serato Studio on Instagram to participate!

Final Beat Creation

In the end, the AI-created melody turned into an incredible beat. I can’t emphasize enough how fascinating it is to watch AI in music production evolve.
