Learning How to Write the English Alphabet Uppercase and Lowercase Letters

Hi kiddos, in this video we will learn how to write the uppercase and lowercase letters of the English alphabet. Get your pens and paper ready, and let’s begin!


The Letter A

Uppercase A:

  • Start at the top, slant down to the left
  • Slant down to the right, then across

Lowercase A:

  • Pull back, around, up, then draw a line down

A is for apple, airplane, antelope, alligator


The Letter B

Uppercase B:

  • Pull down, back on the top, around in
  • Back in the middle, around again

Lowercase B:

  • Pull down, go back to the middle, draw a curved line to the bottom

B is for ball, bear, bus, butterfly


The Letter C

Uppercase C:

  • From the top, pull back and around up

Lowercase C:

  • Pull back in and around up

C is for cow, car, cat, corn, caterpillar


The Letter D

Uppercase D:

  • Pull down, back on top, and around in

Lowercase D:

  • Pull back around, up, back on top, and pull down

D is for dog, donut, duck, dolphin, dinosaur


The Letter E

Uppercase E:

  • Start from the top, pull down
  • Across at the top, middle, and again below

Lowercase E:

  • Across, pull back and around

E is for egg, elephant, eyes, earth, eagle


The Letter F

Uppercase F:

  • Pull down, across on the top, across in the middle

Lowercase F:

  • Do a curved line from the top, pull back down, and put a straight line across

F is for frog, flowers, fish, fire, fox


The Letter G

Uppercase G:

  • Pull back around, pull up, and across in

Lowercase G:

  • Pull back around up, and pull down left

G is for giraffe, gorilla, goldfish, goat


The Letter H

Uppercase H:

  • Pull down, pull down again, and across in the middle

Lowercase H:

  • From the top, pull down, around up, and down

H is for horse, heart, helicopter, house, hand


The Letter I

Uppercase I:

  • Pull down

Lowercase I:

  • Pull down and a dot

I is for igloo, iguana, ice cream, eyes, insects


The Letter J

Uppercase J:

  • Pull down around up

Lowercase J:

  • Pull down, curve around up and a dot

J is for jellyfish, juice, jaguar, jam, jet fighter


The Letter K

Uppercase K:

  • From the top, pull down, slant up, draw another diagonal line out

Lowercase K:

  • Pull down, slant up, draw another diagonal line out

K is for koala, key, kangaroo, kite, kiwi


The Letter L

Uppercase L:

  • Pull down, across at the bottom

Lowercase L:

  • From the top, pull down again

L is for lion, lamp, leaf, log, lemon


The Letter M

Uppercase M:

  • Start from the top, pull down, slant down, slant up, pull down again

Lowercase M:

  • Pull down, around up, over down, go back in the middle, around up, over down

M is for monkey, milk, mouse, moon, mushroom


The Letter N

Uppercase N:

  • From the top, pull down, slant down, pull up

Lowercase N:

  • Pull down, back to the middle, up around, pull down

N is for nest, noodles, necklace, nightingale, narwhal


The Letter O

Uppercase O:

  • Start from the middle, pull back, curve around up, and close

Lowercase O:

  • Start from the middle, pull back, around up, and close

O is for octopus, orange, owl, ostrich, onions


The Letter P

Uppercase P:

  • Pull down, back on the top, around, and in

Lowercase P:

  • Pull down, go back to the middle, around, in

P is for pizza, parrot, pumpkin, pig, piano


The Letter Q

Uppercase Q:

  • Pull back around, curve, pull up, around, close, slant cross

Lowercase Q:

  • Pull back, around up, and pull down

Q is for queen, quail, quill, quinoa, quetzal


The Letter R

Uppercase R:

  • From the top, pull down, back on top, around in, slant out

Lowercase R:

  • Pull down, back on top, around over

R is for robot, rabbit, rainbow, rooster


The Letter S

Uppercase S:

  • Pull back around, down, around up

Lowercase S:

  • Pull back around in, back around up

S is for star, snake, sun, spider, strawberry


The Letter T

Uppercase T:

  • Across at the top, pull down

Lowercase T:

  • Pull down, across

T is for turtle, tractor, tomato, tiger, train


The Letter U

Uppercase U:

  • Pull down, around, pull up

Lowercase U:

  • Pull down, around up, pull down

U is for umbrella, unicorn, ukulele, utensils, unicycle


The Letter V

Uppercase V:

  • From the top, slant down, slant up

Lowercase V:

  • Slant down in, slant up out

V is for vulture, violin, vase, vacuum, van


The Letter W

Uppercase W:

  • Slant down, slant up, slant down again, slant up

Lowercase W:

  • Slant down in, slant up, slant down, slant up out

W is for whale, wheel, walrus, worm, watermelon


The Letter X

Uppercase X:

  • Start at the top, diagonal line down, go back to the top, another diagonal line the other way

Lowercase X:

  • Slant down, another slant down the other way

X is for xylophone, x-ray fish


The Letter Y

Uppercase Y:

  • Slant down, slant down in, pull down

Lowercase Y:

  • Slant down in, slant down and extend

Y is for yogurt, yo-yo, yak, yacht, yarn


The Letter Z

Uppercase Z:

  • Across at the top, slant down in, across at the bottom

Lowercase Z:

  • Start on top, across, slant down in, across again

Z is for zebra, zucchini, zipper, zeppelin, zoo
