Education

Introduction

Welcome back to another edition of Magic Minute! Today, we’re diving into the world of presentation creation using the Presentation Generator. This powerful tool allows you to easily create presentations from a variety of sources, making it an invaluable resource for educators and students alike.

Getting Started with the Presentation Generator

To kick things off, let’s explore how to utilize the Presentation Generator. First, navigate to the paperclip icon where you can upload various types of documents. The generator supports:

  • Google Docs
  • Presentations
  • OneDrive documents
  • YouTube video links
  • Any URL

For our demonstration, I’ll be accessing a lesson plan I’ve already created on geometry from my Google Drive. I’ll upload this document to the generator.

Once the lesson plan is attached, I will leave the additional criteria link empty for now and click on the generate button. The magic begins as the tool creates a skeleton of the presentation tailored to my lesson plan.

Next, I’ll go to the bottom of the page and click on export slides to export my creation to Google Slides. Once the process is complete, I will click on open slides. Voila! I now have an excellent starting point for my presentation with all the pertinent information automatically populated.

Creating a Presentation from a YouTube Video

Now, let’s take a look at how to create a presentation using a YouTube video. For this example, I’ve found a fantastic video about Election Day. I will head back to the paperclip icon and click on YouTube video. After pasting the link from the chosen video, I will see that the video about Election Day for kids is now attached.

This time, I’ll also add additional criteria. I want each slide to include a discussion question paired with a Kagan Cooperative Learning structure. After clicking generate, the tool works its magic again, curating a presentation based on the election day theme.

Once done, I’ll export the slides again to Google Slides, and upon opening it, I find my Election Day presentation fully crafted with discussion questions and Kagan structures integrated into each slide.

Conclusion

You can repeat this process as many times as needed, creating a diverse range of presentations utilizing different resources. The Presentation Generator is a handy tool that simplifies the presentation creation process, allowing educators to focus more on teaching. Have fun creating engaging presentations for your students!
