Introduction

Welcome to my creative space! My name is Mandy Witherby from Mandy's Papercraft Creations, and I’m an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator based in Sydney, Australia. Today, I’m excited to share with you a brand-new project featuring the Utterly Adorable Suite, which launches tomorrow, November 5, 2024.

In this session, we’ll explore the adorable products from this Suite and create a beautiful card adorned with charming otters.

Setting Up for Creativity

Before diving into the project, I ensured all my devices were set up correctly so that I could easily monitor your comments while crafting. It’s essential to manage comfort as well as technology when hosting any live crafting session.

As many of you may know, I missed last week’s session due to health issues. After experiencing vertigo and neck pain following an old injury, I took some time off. Thankfully, I’m back and eager to create!

The Creative Process

I began by stamping the adorable otters onto Basic White cardstock, using Early Espresso ink to ensure the adorable details showed through when colored. For coloring, I chose the Stampin’ Blends markers, emphasizing different shades for each otter to provide contrast. After die-cutting the stamped otters, I created a playful underwater scene using the designer paper and several die-cut elements.

Throughout the process, I enjoyed sharing tips, like pressing down the blending brushes lightly to avoid heavy ink spots, and adding dimension to cards with layers and embellishments.

Assembling the Card

Once the elements were prepped, I decided on using Lost Lagoon cardstock as the base, combining it with a layer of the designer paper. I used adhesive tape to secure the layers neatly before adding dimension to the foreground elements.

Finally, I embellished the card with the Riverside pearls, giving it a whimsical touch. The addition of the sentiment, stamped directly onto the background, completed the charming scene.

It's a simple yet delightful card that celebrates the joys of crafting with friends.
