Ozone Generator - Must Have For Everyday Use & Preps

Hello YouTubers, Alaska Prepper here! Today, I'm going to discuss an essential gadget that everyone should incorporate into their everyday use and preps. I'm inside my 1991 Jamere, fresh from a family trip, and it's time to get some chores done. After every trip, we ensure our RV is clean and organized, which makes the next camping experience much more pleasant. One of the key things I recommend for keeping it fresh is an ozone machine.

Post-Trip Cleaning Routine

The first task is to remove anything that's not supposed to be in the Jamere and ensure everything is vacuumed and disinfected. Cleanliness in a confined space with multiple people and pets is crucial for comfort. We use the storage areas intelligently so that the RV doesn't get cluttered with unnecessary items, making the overall experience enjoyable.

Introducing the Ozone Machine

We use an ozone machine called the "Odor Free Villa 1000" to keep our RV fresh. While we’ve had this one for over 10 years, newer models are available. This machine generates ozone, a powerful agent that destroys odors at the molecular level. It's perfect for anyone with a camper or RV and should be a key part of your preps.

How Ozone Works

The ozone machine creates O3, or ozone, by breaking up O2 molecules (oxygen) into O1 atoms, which then attach to other O2 molecules. This molecular transformation results in O3, a potent odor eliminator. While I’m not a scientist, I can attest that this machine works wonders.

Benefits and Cautions

Ozone machines neutralize unpleasant smells like smoke and pet odors. They are also reputed to destroy tiny bugs and viruses, making them invaluable for health. However, remember that you should not be in the same space while the machine is running, and pets should be kept away as well.

Usage Experience

When my family and I moved to Alaska and lived in a poorly sanitized house, the ozone machine was a lifesaver. It eliminated smoke and pet odors that wouldn’t go away with just cleaning. I’ve used it in various situations, like when our cat Miss Lucy had frequent accidents due to seizures. This machine not only neutralized the smell but also seemed to purify the air.

Maintenance

Changing the plates in the ozone machine is easy and cost-effective. New plates run about $ 30-$ 40, and the originals lasted over ten years. To use the machine, set the output level and timer per your needs. I typically run it continuously with a dehumidifier and fan to maintain a fresh atmosphere.

Additional Equipment: Air Purifier

Recently, SimPure sent me a heavy-duty air purifier to add to our collection. This device, equipped with a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and carbon filter, also measures air quality. It’s a sophisticated unit that complements our ozone machine and dehumidifier, ensuring optimal air quality in the RV.

Storage Solutions

You might wonder how all this equipment fits in the RV. We have optimized storage to fit everything, including seats, solar panels, and other necessities. Each item has its dedicated space, ensuring we retain living space and comfort.

Solar Power

We use OPOW solar panels to charge our Mega 3 battery pack efficiently. On a sunny day, these panels provide sufficient power to keep the battery topped up, making us less reliant on the grid.

Conclusion

While this video might not directly relate to prepping, these tips greatly enhance our comfort and prep readiness. Clean, fresh air and an organized space make life significantly better, whether you're on the road or preparing for unforeseen events. Thank you for your support and see you in the next video where I'll introduce my chicken!
