Pictory AI Review 2024 (Is Pictory Still Worth It?)

Welcome to my Pictory AI review almost a year later. I'm back reviewing the software that allows you to create highly engaging videos in minutes using the power of AI to see how it holds up now. Pictory offers some fantastic features designed to make your life easier. As you can see, there are plenty of them, but some of the biggest ones include converting text to video, which means you can transform your articles or blog posts into videos effortlessly. Then there is the script-to-video feature, ensuring you can quickly turn your scripts into engaging content, which I'm going to show you. With subtitles and captions, you can automatically generate text for your videos, making them more accessible and engaging.

Pictory might be one of the best AI faceless YouTube video makers out there, meaning you can create professional videos without ever stepping in front of a camera. Let's dive into how Pictory works, and I'll show you around.

Getting Started with Pictory

Here we are on the inside of Pictory. Very similar to the last time we reviewed it, we have the same process for getting up and running. We have our Script to Video, Article to Video, Edit Video Using Text, and Visuals to Video here.

If you know how to use the Script to Video, I think you're going to be good to go with the rest of them given that it uses the video editor in the process, and it's very easy to do. For example, if you were utilizing an article, you can just paste it in there and proceed. But if we're going to be doing a Script to Video, it's going to be a very similar process.

Here is an example script that I'm going to be utilizing, which I created very quickly with ChatGPT about "Is Skateboarding Dangerous?" Ideally, you want to make sure you have short and choppy sentences. You're going to notice that I have one that's a little bit longer, but ideally, every single sentence is going to be a new slide. Don't worry; Pictory is going to create that for you automatically, which is always a great thing. Let's click on "Proceed" right here, and if we give it some time, it's going to create the storyboard for you along with the videos, the audio, and so on. I'll get back to you when it's done.

Editing the Video

Here we are. The great thing about Pictory is that it created this entire video slideshow for us. There is one thing you might want to do: go through and see if the videos match up perfectly. We have all of our scenes right here, and when we click on them, we can see if this is related to skateboarding. Yes, people are skateboarding in the background—not bad.

Here's an example of a scene that could be a little different because there are no major buzzwords like "skateboarding" in here, so this could be about many things. For example, let's click on "Play."

This could be someone about to go down a slope, but you might want to change that—very easy to do. We can click on "Visuals" right here, type in "skateboarding," and as we see here, someone is going to be doing a lot of skateboarding. Let's say we want to add that one in—simply click on it, and it's automatically going to replace it.

Improvements and Features

Pictory has made some big improvements since my last review. As it says right here, "Your library just got 10x larger." They have partnered with GY to make your content pop with 10 million more videos. How cool is that? This is a very big improvement. Compared to other video editors, many are good but lack a significant amount of videos. It's always a good thing to have more, especially if you are creating a lot of content in a specific niche, hobby, or other areas.

That's how you go in and change things. You also have the ability to add in audio. "Ain't Afraid" is pretty funny considering this is about skateboarding and maybe being dangerous or not. What I'm going to do is play it for you very quickly. Keep in mind that anytime I play any of my audio, if there's a little echo, it's because it's playing off of my computer and going through my mic. That might be the reason why or it is the reason why. Let me stop talking.

Great, it's very loud for me because I had to turn up my volume, so I'm just going to get rid of that so it doesn't play over.

Voiceovers

Here's a really cool thing I think you're going to like: the ability to add voiceovers. There are plenty of them that you can utilize, and they have also partnered with 11 Labs to give you some really good high-quality AI voiceovers. For example, here's Adam:

There are plenty more you can scroll through, like Harrison, Jack, James, and more. Let's say we want to use Josh:

"As an organizer, I..."

Let's apply it, and what it's going to do is create that hyper-realism AI voice-over for you. I'll get back to you when it's done, and we can listen to a little bit more.

Great, the voiceover has been applied. Let's preview the scene here; it's going to load for a few seconds.

Not bad, but let's say we wanted to use a different one. What we can also do here is remove the voiceover.

You can apply the AI voice-over we previously did, upload your own voice-over if you have a separate file, or record your own voice-over, which is very easy to do. Allow me to show you. I'm going to click on this, say what's written here, then stop it:

Click on "Stop," "Apply," give it a moment, and once it's done, you'll notice it says "Apply to Scene." Perfect, now let's play it after it loads:

Perfect, that's how you can also edit the audio.

Customization and Branding

You've seen how we have our story here, we've gone through and checked it out. We can easily change the visuals; most will be spot on, but occasionally you may need to change something.

You can also add audio, captions, and use various styles to make your videos pop. For example, if you want yellow captions, it applies them to all scenes, or you can add your branding. This is a great way to create a cohesive visual identity. Simply upload your logo, choose the colors associated with it, and apply them to your entire slideshow.
