Please Tell Me I’m Not the Only One #TikTok #Algorithm #Viral #Trending #ForYou #FYP #GRWM #Skincare
Am I the only one noticing how terrible TikTok's algorithm has become? It’s getting out of hand. TikTok has easily become my least favorite app to post on as a content creator solely because the algorithm makes zero sense. It used to be really good. The views to followers ratio is just not correlating whatsoever. I’m noticing creators with hundreds of thousands of followers, even millions, are not getting that many views on their videos. Even with my own videos, I notice the videos that perform poorly on TikTok will get hundreds of thousands of views or even go viral on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.
I have a theory. If you're starting out on TikTok, they favor those kinds of creators and root for them, so they kind of push their content more to get more likes and followers. Then once you're consistent or you start gaining traction, it’s gone, because then they know they've locked you in and you're not going anywhere. Then they move on to the next. Once bigger creators have that traction already going for them, TikTok just stops favoring them because they obviously know they're not going to stop. I don't know, that's just my theory.

FAQ
Q1: Why has TikTok's algorithm become so terrible? A1: TikTok's algorithm has become unpredictable and often results in lower engagement for content creators, especially those who have already gained significant traction on the platform.
Q2: Why are videos performing better on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts compared to TikTok? A2: It appears that videos which don't gain much traction on TikTok often perform much better on platforms like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, possibly due to different algorithms and audience behaviors.
Q3: What is the theory about TikTok and new creators? A3: The theory suggests that TikTok favors new creators by pushing their content more initially to gain likes and followers. Once these creators become consistent and gain traction, TikTok stops favoring them and moves on to the next new creators.
Q4: Why does TikTok stop favoring bigger creators? A4: TikTok likely stops favoring bigger creators because the platform assumes they are already established and not likely to leave, thus it shifts focus to promoting new creators.
