PNGTUBER TUTORIAL ? How to set everything up ~ OBS & Discord

Gaming

Introduction

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of setting up your PNGTuber assets from our Etsy shop on both OBS and Discord. We'll start with OBS, which involves a bit more complexity due to the animations.

Setting Up PNGTuber Assets for OBS

  1. Download the Application
Access the link provided in the instructions PDF from Etsy or via the description below. Click on "Download Now." Although the app is free, you can choose to support the developers. If you opt not to, simply select "No thanks" and pick the appropriate version (usually the first one).

  2. Extract and Open the App
After downloading the app, extract the files and open the application. You should see a user-friendly interface.

  3. Select Your Images
The application allows you to choose four initial images:

    • Closed Mouth: When you are not speaking.
    • Open Mouth: When you are speaking.
    • Closed Mouth Blinking: For a blinking state when not speaking.
    • Open Mouth Blinking: For a blinking state while speaking.
Simply select your images from your files.
  4. Configure Animations
You can add animations for the different states:

    • Closed Mouth: Default is usually static.
    • Open Mouth: Select an animation that fits best for speaking.
    • Transitions: Choose how you would like the mouth to appear when you start speaking.
  5. Create Additional States
You can create other states for different emotions, e.g., a "hype" state. Select your images and assign a hotkey (like the letter 'H') to trigger this state. Choose if the animation is activated by pressing or clicking the key.

  6. Microphone and Background Settings
Choose your preferred microphone for the PNG to react to and select a background—while gray is commonly used, you might prefer transparent.

  7. Load Pre-configured Files
If you purchased the PNGTuber, go to "Load," select the file, and everything will be automatically set up for you. To save your own configurations, click "Save."

  8. Add to OBS
In OBS, create a new game capture, select the specific window (the app we're using), and ensure to allow transparency for no background. Place your PNGTuber wherever you want on the screen.

Setting Up PNGTuber Assets for Discord

  1. Access the Discord Link
Go to the provided link, ensuring you are logged into your Discord account and authorized.

  2. Select Images for Discord
Choose your inactive and speaking images. Save both images to your device.

  3. Configure Settings
After saving, adjust any desired settings.

  4. Add to Discord
Copy the link to the individual image. In OBS, add a browser source, paste the link, and your setup will be reflected—showing a dark image when you're not speaking and switching images when you do.

  5. Voice Channel Requirement
Remember, to see the changes in Discord, you need to be in a voice room.
