Suno AI has introduced an incredible new feature called Personas, allowing users to capture and save the style, vibe, and vocals of any track as a unique Persona. This guide will walk you through the process of creating your own Persona and exploring its capabilities.

Getting Started with Personas

To begin, select any song from your library or the create section. For example, I recently made a song for the Timlin contest, and I’m particularly fond of the singer’s voice. Let’s play a snippet:

“Love me, turn around, then that me all the pain of...”

After enjoying the song, I want to capture the singer's voice for future use. To do this, I click on the three-dot menu, select Create, and spot a new option called Make Persona (currently in beta and exclusive to paid users).

Naming Your Persona

Next, let’s name the Persona. I’ll use something recognizable, like Pop Ballad Female. You can name it whatever suits your style. Additionally, you can upload an image for your Persona or provide a prompt for an AI-generated image.

Then, I'll describe the vocal style as Pop ballad vocals with a mellow tone and a sad feel. I will keep this Persona private for now, meaning only I can access it. If shared publicly, others will also be able to utilize my creation.

Activating Custom Mode

Now that we've created our Persona, let's activate custom mode. I scroll down and find a new Persona tab; I click on the dropdown menu to select my newly created Persona. Once selected, the style of music is automatically filled in.

Next, I add my lyrics for the song. With these components in place, I give it a title. Currently, there’s a promotion for 200 free Persona songs, which is pretty awesome! Finally, I click Create to see the result.

Full Song Creation

Once completed, here’s what I crafted:

“4 a.m... your profile still online, but your last SE was days be... high deleted messages I can’t retrieve, like Polaroids that never got to be...”

The result is a full song using the Persona we just created. I can now create multiple songs with this singer’s voice and even put together a full album.

Experimenting with Styles

Now, let’s conduct an experiment. What happens if we keep the same Persona but change the music style to something upbeat, like pop?

When we try it out, the results still hold on to the same voice, but it delivers a more energetic vibe while maintaining that live performance aesthetic.

Pushing Boundaries

For an additional challenge, let’s test her voice with a heavier music style - heavy metal. After pasting my lyrics and giving it a title, the result is… well, perhaps a little too experimental for this Persona.

Explore Unique Voices across Languages

Notably, songs in languages other than English often showcase better vocals and a broader variety of voices. For instance, a Turkish song features a deep, sultry voice, and a Hindi song parallels styles found in Bollywood films.

While currently, we cannot create personas from uploaded audio directly, users can upload their vocal samples and integrate them into their projects.

All your created personas can be found in the library under the personas section. You have the option to make them public, allowing others to use your creations.
