Hello, I'm Susan Ley, a healthcare consultant and coach. My consulting practice began several years ago when I was given the opportunity to help organizations, government agencies, and schools navigate care support following traumatic events in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Since then, I’ve expanded my focus to assist healthcare professionals, teams, providers, and families through consulting, coaching, and training. My mission is to support the very professionals and teams that care for all of us, continuing a legacy established by my family, where healthcare and business intersect.

Education and Professional Development

I am privileged to have pursued my education at several esteemed institutions. I hold an Associate of Arts degree from Roger Williams University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, a Master's and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling Psychology from Springfield College, and graduate certificates in the Business of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University and High-Performance Leadership from Cornell University, School of Industrial and Labor Relations. These diverse degrees and certifications have significantly shaped my professional journey.

Achievements and Impact

Throughout my career, I have focused on helping patients and families navigate care effectively. I have trained over 4,000 healthcare professionals and given more than 150 presentations on vital topics like communication, collaboration, stress management, burnout, trauma, and mental health care. I’ve facilitated debrief sessions for clinical teams following intense situations in some of the busiest acute care environments, including emergency departments and intensive care units.

One of my proudest accomplishments involves reducing the time patients with mental illnesses spend in an emergency department, ultimately enhancing the collaboration between our hospital and organizations like the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI). Additionally, I have engaged with over 200 patients and families, utilizing their feedback to develop our patient experience program, underscoring the importance of continuous improvement in healthcare.
