FAQ
Q: What is the purpose of duplicating the layer and applying Gaussian Blur? A: Duplicating the layer and applying Gaussian Blur allows us to create a displacement map, which will give the text a distorted effect when applied.
Q: Why do we delete the Gaussian Blur Layer after saving it? A: The Gaussian Blur layer is only needed for creating the displacement map and not for the final effect, so it can be removed to keep the workspace clean.
Q: Can I use any font for this effect? A: Yes, you can use any font, but the tutorial uses the "Poppins" font, which is freely available online.
Q: What does converting the text layer to a smart object do? A: Converting the text layer to a smart object allows non-destructive editing and makes it easier to apply filters and adjustments.
Q: How do I create a clipping mask?
A: Hold Alt
and click between the image and text layers in the Layers panel to create a clipping mask, which confines the image to the text area.
