Use AI to Create Consistent Characters for your Animation/StoryBook Projects

Education

Introduction

Hello money makers and welcome back to the channel! Today I am thrilled to share a method for generating multiple consistent characters that can be used in storybooks, animation projects, comic books, or any other amazing project you have in mind.

For instance, I have created several animations using this method, and as you can see, my characters remain consistent across different scenarios and scenes. These are the best results I have achieved with any art generator. Here are some additional examples of comic book pages created using this method - even complex characters maintain their style and look consistently.

Step-by-Step Guide: Building Your Custom GPT

To help speed up the process, I've left a base prompt in the description that you can customize for your specific use case. All I ask is that you smash that like button so this video reaches more people who might struggle to create consistent characters.

Getting Started with ChatGPT

First, you'll need to upgrade to the GPT Plus plan for $ 20 a month if you want to create custom GPTs and generate images using DALL-E. Head to ChatGPT, go to the Explore tab, and then click "Create a GPT."

Normally, you’d chat back and forth with the bot to establish instructions, but you can skip this step and go directly to the Configure page. Copy the provided base prompt and paste it into the instructions box.

  1. Name Your Bot: I'll call this bot Storybook Illustrator.
  2. Description: "Generates consistent characters."

Fill in your specific information where indicated. For my story with one main character, I’m using a 3D Pixar style with a neon aura.

Creating a Character Prompt

To develop a robust base prompt for your character, start by detailing as much as you can about the character—name, age, hair color, eye color, clothing style, etc. I used the following:

  • Initial Prompt: "Marcus is a 13-year-old African-American boy with a 3D Pixar animated style appearance. He has trendy, spiky black hair with subtle purple highlights and brown skin. His eyes are striking green. He's dressed in an oversized black hoodie with a large white skull graphic, baggy black jeans, and all-white high-top sneakers. Marcus has a neon aura that surrounds him, giving a vibrant, almost futuristic look to his appearance."

The prompt can be refined, and once you get an image you like, click on it to open the info tab and copy the prompt GPT created. Paste this back and ask, "Can you remove all the expletives from this description and give me just the details?"

Generating and Refining Your Characters

Repeat the process for any additional characters, but limit it to three to avoid confusion. Save images as references, check the necessary boxes (web browsing, DALL-E 3 image generation, code interpreter) and save.

Testing and Using Your GPT

You can then prompt the bot with scene descriptions involving your main characters. Continue saving the best images and updating the bot. Each new scene can be generated using the character’s name and scene description.

Upscaling Images

Images generated are low-resolution. If you plan on using them commercially, upscale them using a free AI image upscaler. If the images are too large for Canva, adjust their size using the free Photoshop tool, Photopea.

Let me know if you want a dedicated video on how to create these animations for free. If you have any questions, drop them in the comments, and I'll get back to you.

Stay safe and be blessed!
