Video GPT | Generate Videos Using AI
Today, I'm going to show you how to make videos using Chat GPT, and I know what you're thinking, "That's old news, Lauren! That feature's already been out for a year." You would be right, well, partially right because this is an updated Video GPT which now allows you to:
- Adjust the length of your videos.
- Generate scripts and voiceovers in over 45 languages.
- Use custom footage and logos.
- Turn PDFs into videos.
To start, Video GPT will write a script for you based on your prompt or, if you prefer, you can even upload a PDF that you want to include in your script. For instance, if you attach a PDF with information about your chosen video topic, Video GPT recognizes that and asks if you want to create a video surrounding that topic.
Instead of uploading a PDF, I'm going to type out exactly what my video is about and give as much detail as possible. Remember, with the latest update, you can include the desired script length. Feel free to specify your needs. For me, I want to make a YouTube short on the top five things to do in Hong Kong and specify that the script length be 30 seconds long. I want my video in English, but if I wanted it in another language, I would just type out "video in Italian," "video in French," etc.
Once I hit send, if you didn't provide enough information in your prompt, Video GPT will ask you a few more questions like, "Does this script fit your vision?" and "Would you like to use a male or female voiceover for this video?" or "Choose an avatar instead." These questions help ensure that it generates the video you want. The questions can differ every time depending on the type of video you're going for, so take your time and provide detailed answers for better results.
Once it generates your script, read through it and make sure there's nothing you want to change. For instance, if I didn't like one of the locations suggested, I can ask it to change to another location by copying the script, editing it in the text box, and pasting it back.
If you're happy with your script, you can confirm it, and Video GPT will generate your video. You'll have the opportunity to play your video back by hitting the play button. You will then be directed into V's editor where the video dimensions are perfect for our YouTube short.
Video GPT by Ved has picked out stock footage, a speaker, background music, and even a subtitle style with some emojis. However, since this is for my own personal channel, I want to make it more personable and relatable to give it some authenticity. It's great for me to give recommendations for Hong Kong, but if I switch out some of the stock footage with my own footage, it adds genuineness to my video and my brand. Also, the subtitles chosen are cool but don't fit my style and aesthetic, so I want to change those.
First, I'll switch out some of the stock footage with my footage by clicking on the clip I want to remove, scrolling down the edit video panel, and selecting "replace video." Then, I'll click "upload a file" and import my footage from Hong Kong. Once that's loaded, my footage is now in the YouTube short. I'll repeat this for any other appropriate areas.
For the subtitles, to fit my travel brand, I'll select "subtitles" in the toolbar, then "styles tab." Here, I can change the font, size, color, add a highlight to the spoken word, and more under "effects" and "animation." There are 13 different animation styles to choose from. Hovering my mouse over each one shows it in effect, and I can select my favorite.
If I reposition my subtitles, I need to be aware of the layout for YouTube Shorts to ensure subtitles aren't hidden beneath the user interface. Now, with my customized video looking as I envisioned, I can go ahead and export it. I'll click "done" in the top right corner, choose render settings, and hit "export video." Once rendered, I can watch it back to see how the video turned out.
"Explore the vibrant heart of Asia. Here are the top five unique things to do in Hong Kong for the adventurous soul: take the tram to Victoria Peak and witness the stunning cityscape, wander through the bustling Temple Street Night Market, sail the iconic Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour, take a food tour and try the local dishes, and lastly, ride the Ngong Ping 360 cable car to Lantau Island. Don't just visit, immerse yourself in the adventure of Hong Kong."
Once satisfied with the video, I'll click "download" and then "download MP4." And that's it! That is how to use the latest version of Video GPT to tailor your videos for every platform and customize them to fit your brand and style. I hope you find this article helpful. See you in the next one!
