DB schema has a free Community Edition available on dbschema.com. Using DB schema, we can connect to any database, and the schema structure will be loaded and shown as diagrams.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to visually build SQL queries using DB schema:

1. Load the Schema:

   • After connecting to the database, the schema structure is automatically loaded and displayed as diagrams.

2. Select Columns:

   • Click on the table header and choose the Query Builder.
   • In the Query Builder, tick the columns you want to select.

3. Run the Query:

   • You can run the query and see the generated query on the right side of the screen.

4. Join Tables:

   • Join more tables by clicking the foreign key icon near columns.
   • Use the foreign key label to switch between outer join, left join, and exists or not exists clauses.

5. Virtual Foreign Keys:

   • If the schema is missing foreign keys, you can create virtual foreign keys in the layout by dragging and dropping one column over the referred column.

6. Set Table Alias:

   • Set an alias for the table by double-clicking the table header.

7. Filter Data:

   • Filter the data by right-clicking any column.

8. Aggregate Functions:

   • By adding an aggregate function, the query will use the Group By clause.

9. Save Query Builder:

   • The Query Builder will be saved as part of the DB schema model and can be reopened the next time you start DB schema.
