4. Watch Me Work with AI, Veed.io, and Cueprompter to Make a Video Sales Letter That Kills in 20 Minutes

Hey everyone,

I've been doing a lot of content creation for LinkedIn and other platforms, so I decided to make a "watch me work" video. In this article, I'll walk you through how I create content, specifically focusing on a video sales letter for the services page of the Ghostfinder.com website, aimed at selling hackathons.

What is a Video Sales Letter?

A video sales letter (VSL) is a script designed to help sell products on the internet. Videos are statistically proven to help people retain more information compared to reading text. Essentially, whatever information is on the page should also be delivered to the user in an authentic manner through video.

Using ChatGPT for Script Writing

To create this VSL, I turned to our reliable friend, ChatGPT. Here are a few tricks I used while prompting:

  1. Provide compelling background information.
  2. Include emotional elements you wish to convey.
  3. Make ChatGPT pretend to be a famous copywriter such as Joseph Sugarman or David Ogilvy.

My first draft from ChatGPT was already pretty good but still needed some refinement.

Editing the Script

I opened up a Google Doc and began editing the script. Due to my difficulties memorizing scripts, I used Cueprompter.com as a teleprompter to assist me. One challenge I faced was ensuring the video didn’t look like I was reading from a script.

Filming the Video

To make it look more natural, I used a tripod to position my camera directly in front of the screen with the script text just peeking out above it. This setup helped me maintain eye contact with the camera. While it’s not perfect, the result is decent and shouldn't look too obviously scripted.

Tools Used

  • Loom for recording this process.
  • Veed.io for both screen capture and captioning. This saved a step as I didn't need to export the Loom video before adding captions.

You can check out the final video on the services page of Ghostfinder.com.
