Introduction

In this article, I’ll share a technique that I’ve used consistently throughout my videos this month. Many of you have reached out asking how I achieved that signature wiggle effect at the end of each video. As a big fan of this technique myself, I’m excited to detail the process for you.

Step 1: Choose Your Drawing Software

To create this effect, you'll need drawing software. While I will be using Procreate for this tutorial, there are numerous other options available. You can also try free applications like Fire Alpaca or Paint Tool SAI. If you prefer a more hands-on approach, you can take a simple green piece of construction paper, draw your design on it, and use green screen effects in your editing software to key it out later.

Step 2: Draw Your Design

Start by drawing or writing out exactly what you want to animate. Once you have your initial design completed, lower the opacity of the layer. Then, create a new layer above the original and carefully trace over your drawing. This step is essential for adding clarity and depth to your final animation.

Step 3: Export Your Layers

After you’ve traced your design, export each layer as its own frame. To achieve the wiggle effect, save each layer in PNG format, which will allow for a transparent background, ensuring the movement stands out.

Step 4: Edit Your Frames

When you move into your editing software, set each layer to last for three frames. To enhance the wiggly movement, duplicate and paste your frames multiple times. This technique will give your drawings or words a nice, lively wiggle, bringing them to life and capturing the viewer’s attention.

By following these steps, you can replicate the wiggle effect I’ve been using in my content. Hopefully, this guide has made the process clearer for you, and I look forward to seeing what you create!
