YouTube Monetization New Requirements in 2023

Assalam-o-Alaikum! Welcome, I am Tanveer Asghar, and you are watching the Tanveer Bhai YouTube channel. Today’s video is aimed specifically at new YouTubers whose channels are not yet monetized. If your channel is already monetized, you may still find this information interesting. We'll delve into the updated requirements for YouTube monetization in 2023.

Previously, YouTube had five essential requirements for monetizing a channel, but now they have increased this number to six. Let’s go through these requirements one by one.

The First Five Requirements

  1. Follow All Monetization Policies: This includes acquiring 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views.
  2. Eligible Country: The country you reside in must be eligible for monetization. For instance, Pakistan is eligible.
  3. No Active Community Guidelines Strikes: Your channel must be free from any active Community Guidelines strikes.
  4. Enable 2-Step Verification: This involves turning on Two-Step Verification for your account.
  5. Link an Active AdSense Account: You need to link an active AdSense account to your channel.

The Sixth Requirement: Advanced Features

YouTube has introduced a sixth requirement: enabling advanced features. Details on how to enable this feature are provided in a practical video linked in the description of my video.

Reapplication Process for Monetization

For those whose channels have not yet been monetized, here’s what you need to know about the reapplication process:

  1. First Rejection: If your channel gets rejected after meeting 1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views, you can reapply after 30 days.
  2. Second Rejection: If your channel gets rejected for the second time, you'll need to wait 90 days before you can reapply. This 90-day waiting period applies to every subsequent rejection.

It's crucial to ensure that your content complies with all YouTube policies before reapplying. Failing to do so will lead to more delays.

AdSense Account Verification

Recently, there have been numerous rejections of AdSense accounts during the verification process. If you encounter issues with AdSense verification, it's advisable to wait for a few days and try again.

These were the vital pieces of information I had to share with new YouTubers. If you found this article helpful, please give it a like. Insha'Allah, we will meet in the next video. Till then, Allah Hafiz.
