Hi, it's Arnie here, and today I'm going to show you how I made this doodle video. This video is a little different; instead of building the video with you, I'll deconstruct my video and show you how I did it.
First, I downloaded a background. I used the Pixabay integration in the software. I went to the media library, searched "Pixabay," and looked up the word "chalkboard" or "blackboard." After choosing an empty chalkboard, I added it to the scene and locked it in place to prevent any movements.
This video is unique because everything takes place on one scene, utilizing a lot of camera work to show different aspects of the scene. I added various doodle elements like text and doodles, using the "Cabin Sketch" for the text as it fits the chalkboard theme well. I organized all the assets in my timeline, making them appear one after the other.
Text Effect: I used a doodle text effect with a chalk hand, choosing a 3D hand. I kept most effects at 15 seconds but shortened them from the end rather than the beginning to ensure the full drawing effect.
Arrow Effect: Added an arrow doodle effect right after the text.
Text Underlining: Included an underlining doodle effect to underline the main text.
Stickman and Other Elements: Added a stickman in a dancing position, additional text, and arrows as elements kept appearing on the screen.
Spotlights and Hand Effects: Included spotlights to repeat to keep them on the screen and a doodle hand effect to pop in and out.
Once all elements were in place, I started adding camera transitions to make the scene dynamic:
Initial Camera Effect: Started with the camera slightly zoomed in.
Following Arrows: Added camera effects to follow the arrows and text around the screen.
Detailed Transitions: Used "Duplicate Reverse" to keep the same size but reverse direction, making finer adjustments as needed to the camera's end position.
Full Screen at End: Ended with a full-screen shot for the final message.
I added a "Children" audio track to give it a friendly atmosphere and a 2-second fade-out to avoid an abrupt end.
This deconstruction shows how you can map out your doodle video with initial elements, add doodle effects sequentially, and use camera work to create a dynamic viewer experience. Good luck with your doodling!
