    Ideal Length of Sales Conversations

    Tim: Is there an ideal length of time to talk to a homeowner during a roofing sales appointment?

    Sebastian: Yes, there is. Our data shows an average conversation that leads to a sale is about an hour and 56 minutes. In contrast, conversations that did not lead to a sale average around 75 minutes. Additionally, longer conversations not only have a higher close rate but also average higher sales tickets.


    Inspection Times

    Tim: How long should a roof inspection be that actually helps the homeowner see the value in it?

    Sebastian: Interestingly, the more time you spend discussing the inspection with the homeowner, the higher the close rates. However, spending between 20-25 minutes yields the most benefit in terms of average ticket and close rate.

    Most conversations where no inspection was performed had a significantly lower close rate, dropping from 21% to 14%.

    Sebastian: AI is pushing us to be more productive and quicker. It's not about automating jobs entirely but about enhancing human performance. For example, sales managers using Rea AI can now perform 400 virtual ride-alongs a month, compared to just a couple before.
