You Can Earn Ad Revenue on Twitter Now

    Introduction

Twitter ad Revenue sharing is officially coming soon and I am personally quite excited about it. However, I'm also a little bit worried. If you're not familiar with it, Elon Musk has been saying for quite a while now that content creators on Twitter will start getting money for ads in their replies.

It has been a bit rocky thus far. I don't really think Twitter ads are valued all that highly right now, so I'm unsure of how much content creators are actually going to get paid. Despite this, it seems Elon Musk is moving forward with it.

A Twitter researcher recently shared a screenshot purportedly pulled from the back end of the code. It shows two options: "Creator Subscriptions," which has been on the platform for a while now, and "Ad Revenue Share," which states, "earn income from the ads served in the replies to your posts." This being in the code is a strong indication that it should be coming very soon.

Elon Musk confirmed this on Twitter when asked if monetization is coming soon for content creators, as he mentioned a few weeks ago. Musk replied that payouts should start happening within a few weeks. Considering this feature is already in the code and Musk’s timeline, there's a chance that Twitter creators will start earning money before the end of July, which is pretty exciting.

I'm still a bit worried about Twitter monetization, though. For example, TikTok barely pays anything because the ads aren't worth much to advertisers. And I know Twitter ads are quite down right now, so Twitter creators might not make much. But we’ll see what happens when the payout goes out. Hopefully, some creators will share how much they get paid, and then we can analyze together whether being a Twitter creator is actually feasible and worth your time.

Despite the uncertainties, it’s definitely a step in the right direction by Elon Musk to encourage creators on the platform. We’ll see how it all goes down, and I'll continue to cover this on the channel.

Stay tuned if you want to keep up with the latest social media news. Whether you're a content creator trying to stay sharp or just someone trying to understand how social media is trying to manipulate you, my name is Sold, and this was The Algorithmaker.
